"NIQ!!!" I heard my name being called, cause me to turn around. I smiled.

"Hey bestie!" I hugged her as she approached me. "How you been Khalani?"

Khalani Blu. Christopher's ex-girlfriend. Beautiful as ever & the bestest gal friend you could ever have. She & Reese only broke up was because of Royalty. They were on one of their thousands of "break ups", he had sex with some hoe & got her pregnant. He never told Khalani & when she found out about Royalty, she flipped out. She broke up with him & never looked back, but that was two years ago. She always asks about him though.

"How's Reese doing?" She asked. EVERYTIME! I just laughed.

"If you want him back so much, call him." I told her. She sighed. "Put your pride aside for once."

"What about you?" She questioned.

"What about me?"

"Don't think I didn't hear about the whole Daniel and Véronique thing..." She narrowed her eyes at me. "You know you can hold a grudge." Then she laughed. "I remember you got mad at Reese cause he broke your grasses."

"Bigfoot ass nigga..." I folded my arms & frowned. "I'm still mad about that. I had to wear them huge ass grandma glasses for a fuckin month before they sent me some new ones."

"My point exactly." She laughed.

"You'd be mad too if people kept calling you Grandma or Steve Urkel until you graduated." I scuffed. Then I saw Véronique walking out of the Lobster House. "But hey, I gotta go. I still have the same number." I hugged her & walked to my car. Hopefully I'll get past this shit because I refuse to let it stress me.

A week later
Christmas Eve

"Sooooooo...." Jacob & Melissa dragged.

"Don't start.." I laughed.

"But what did you get me?" Melissa whined. I rolled my eyes & smiled.

"Baby, someone's here for you." I looked back at Daniel walking in with my father. I smiled.

"Hey daddy."

"No hug?" He looked disappointed. I laughed & got up to hug him.

When I was about 9, my parents separated but got back together. Then after about two years, he joined the Navy and we hardly see him. We write each other letters every chance he got, or he'd call. But when we get together, it's like he never left. I swear I'm a big Daddy's girl. Daddy's Princess.

"Hey Princess." He kissed my head. "How you holdin up?" I sighed.

"Just taking it a day at a time, but why didn't you tell me that you were coming? How long are you staying?"

"Til my birthday, then I gotta head back to China." His birthday's on the 27th so he won't be here long. "Where's ya mama?"

"In her room." I told him. "She had a mini break down awhile ago..." He nodded & walked upstairs. Then the doorbell rang. I got up to get it. "H-hey you guyssssss..." I fake a smile as both Christopher and Khalani walked in.

"Why is she here?" Chris mumbled to me as he pulled me to the side.

"You're pwetty.." I heard Royalty said.

"Thank you darling." Khalani answered.

"Reese, you two haven't seen each other in two years. I thought it'd be a good idea if you talked. You always telling me to forgive and forget, and you insist on me talking to Dan and Vera......so why can't you take your owe advice?" I sighed, then turned around. "Plus, Ro seems to like her...." He looked over.

"That lil girl likes anybody with a wallet." He scuffed. "But iight..." He walked off. I laughed. I'm praying they get back together. I want a little niece outta them. I can't stand to have another nephew.....I just can't.
