Chapter Four
I wake up at six, thanks to my alarm. Scrambling out of bed, I slide on my worn Nike tennis shoes. Slipping on my black running shorts and black form fitting tanktop, I throw my hair up into a pony tail and head out the door.
The light outside warms my skin even at six in the morning. The birds chirp loudly and I find a rhythm within the world in motion around me. My feet pound against the ground as I bask in the memories of yesterday. Thump, thump, thump. Breathe in. I met Greyson Chance. Thump, thump, thump. Breathe out. They're my neighbors now. Thump, thump, thump. Breathe in. They were going to be here for six months. Thump, thump, thump. Breathe ou-. I collided with something and stumble forward onto the earth of the field behind my house. I look up to see a familiar blonde haired blue eyed boy.
I huff in-between breaths. "Cody-what are- you doing here?"
He smirks and says, "What I can't run in the morning?" I roll my eyes at him and he stands up offering me a hand. I take it and come face to face with him. Well more like face to his chin but you catch my drift.
"Haha very funny."
"Eh, I try"
"So why do you run?" I question inquisitive about his intentions for waking up this early.
"Well it gives me a burst of adrenaline for the day. What about you?"
I look in his eyes searching for something but I don't know what. "It kind of relieves my stress... It lets me let go of, everything" I stop myself. I can't give someone I just met my whole life story. Especially a pop star.
He nods in understanding and smirks as he says, "Race ya" he then takes off. Jerk.
I follow after him at a slow jog. Apparently it's more than a jog for him because within a matter of seconds I am at the same pace as him. Perspiration is dripping down his face and I smirk. "Too much for ya?" I question cockily. He shakes his head no, unable to talk. I laugh and speed up faster, adrenaline coursing through my veins.
I make it to the end of the street a good twenty seconds before him breathing heavily. "Dang! Are you on a highschool team or something?" he questions panting. I laugh at him and answer, "No, remember I'm barely fourteen. I don't start highschool for another few months."
"Well you should because youre amazing."
"Thanks but most of the time they look at the medical sheet before they let you even try out and if you have asthma they won't even let you audition."
"Wait, you have asthma?"
He seems genuinely confused an when I tell him yes he doesn't believe me. Oh well. "So what do you usually do on a Monday?" Cody asks me.
I have one answer. Soccer. It's practically my life. I'm goalie for my team and I made it on all stars. Sadly the next season doesn't start up until September. "I usually play soccer" I respond.
He smirks and says, "Well, soccer it is then."

Now we are standing facing each other. A soccer ball is the only thing between us. Greyson stands alongside Cody staring at the ball. "Honestly, I thought you were the girl who would like to go to the mall or something." Greyson stares at me. "Not the type that plays soccer and will wake up at six am to run." I chuckle at him. Silly boy.
" Well, I guess I fooled you. Soccer is my life. I'm on the Allstars and I play defense and goalie." To tell you the truth I believe I was quite talented. All humbleness implied.
