Prologue
I looked around. I saw nothing but boxes and crates. Each had a separate number. Me and my society: The Federation Army of Galaxies were in the galaxy Hydren. We were searching for the runaway killer, Yoline Treating. “Rose, look over here,” my boss, Galer Unger yelled. He pointed his electric gun towards the door that had numbers over it: 254-294. I walked over in my black suit and looked around.
I heard snickering coming from behind me so I briskly turned around and pointed my ray gun. All it was were my co-mates laughing at me because they all knew that no one would be over there. I was like putty in their hands because they knew I would do anything I said. Because I was a woman. ‘Rose, go refuel my gun. Rose can you get me more nuclear explosives.’ I recalled them saying. I breathed a large puff of air out of my nose and stormed out of the warehouse.
“Rose, where are you going?” Galer yelled as he followed me out. We were outside of the warehouse. Above us was the dark sky with bright stars. “What are you doing? We have to find Yoline. Now go back in there and help us look.”
My eyes slanted, “No.” I heard myself saying. No one ever told Galer no and he knew that as well.
“No?” He was staring at me with a frown.
“Yes, no! The Federation Army of Galaxies has treated me like a child ever since the first day I joined. I’m sick of it.” I threw my gun down and it landed in between the both of us.
Galer stepped back. “It’s only because you’re the newest member.”
“I have been a member of this society for four years, I am not new.” I emphasized not, I needed to get my point across. “The only reason you’re treating me like this is because I’m a woman.”
Galer was obviously taken aghast. He knew it was true. Everyone knew it was true. I wasn’t going to be insulted just because of my sex. “I’m the best killer in this society. I could take down all the other members in one hit.”
Galer looked down, trying to ignore the situation. “Just get back in there,” he kicked the gun towards me and ran back inside.
I picked the gun up and walked the opposite way. I quit the Federation Army of Galaxies, and I was not returning. They had just lost their most valuable fighter and it was not at all my fault. Being a woman doesn’t change a thing about me.
I looked back at the time I had first gotten accepted into the FAOG. I walked into Galer’s office in the city of Lilac. My long red hair was, at that time, at my shoulders. I had a military outfit on and I was young. A lot younger than I am now. Galer was sitting at his desk reading an application sent in by my good friend Alex Heinstein. He had also wanted to be accepted and he was. He looked up from the application noticing me. We talked for a little while. About my childhood. About my parents. My parents. I missed them so much, ever since the accident. My parents died when I was young and I never told anyone. Galer was like the father I never had but always wanted.
He treated me differently each year. Each year becoming worse and worse. I matured, no longer the little kid they called, 'Child'. I was becoming and woman and they kept teasing me.
Finally, I couldn’t take it. It had been a year since I had quit the FAOG and I was now a bounty hunter. On my own, with no one telling me what to do or how to do something. I loved being alone. Sure, I missed Galer and Alex. Galer had to have missed me. Since the past year I had gotten a new war suit. It was a large metal suit that stored its own weapons. Guns and explosives stored in the arm. It was all purple and fit my body perfectly. My face was guarded by a blue screen and I was stronger than ever before. I was Rose. Not the Federation Army of Galaxies' "Woman"
