As Ren makes his way to the stage, he passes Vexon, who is glaring at him venomously. Ren turns slightly to look at him and smirks. Walking up the stairs and onto the stage he smiles as he nods at Lyeecia and Lysedra, who both smile back. “He’s a polite one, isn’t he.” Lysedra whispers to Lyeecia. Lyeecia nods her head in reply, “Indeed he is.” She says.

As Ren is walking up to the crystal ball, he notices some carvings on the pillars on either side of it. Raising an eyebrow at it, Ren stops in front of the crystal ball. As he moves his hand towards it, the pillars start to light up, and when his hand touches it, both pillars instantly shine.

The pillar on the left shines a dark gold, with silver specks though out it, while the pillar on the shine shines a bright silver, with gold specks through out it. The screen above the crystal ball flashes, “Rendryn Crystalore – Martial Artist”. The crowd of children instantly go in uproar when they see this, some cursing, while others are shouting congratulations.

After the noise dies down, the screen flashes again as another line of text appears, “Energy Affinity, Chaos – Perfect, Origin – Perfect”. Everyone is speechless when they see this, Vexon’s eyes nearly pop out from their sockets in disbelief at what he’s seeing. Lyeecia and Lysedra both nearly fall from the shock, but it doesn’t stop there.

The dark gold pillar suddenly has dark gold bolts of lightning twisting around it, making crackling sounds, while the bright silver pillar suddenly has silver flames burst from it. Another line of text under the Energy Affinity appears, “Perfect Unison of Chaos and Origin Energies”.

As this is going on, there’s a shadow in the distant trees, watching. “Found you.” It says, before vanishing into the darkness without a sound. Ren looks over his shoulder towards Blix and Val and smiles, causing them to laugh. “Looks like I’ve got to work even harder now.” Blix says, shaking his head while smiling.

Val turns to look at him, “He is a training nut you know, just keep working hard and I’m sure you’ll keep up with him, who knows, you might even surpass him.” She says, smiling at him. Hearing this, Blix’s face reddens slightly before he turns away, clenching his fists slightly.

Ren starts walking towards the stairs, as he passes Lyeecia and Lysedra he smiles and nods at them again. As he’s making his way back, Vexon has a vicious look in his eyes as he reaches out towards Ren. As his hand is about to reach Ren, another hand lashes out, grabbing his wrist, and jerking it downwards, then a hand lands on his shoulder, forcing him to the ground.

“What were you just about to do?” Val hisses, glaring daggers at Vexon, who’s face is in the dirt. Vexon stays silent before wrenching his wrist free and making a dash to get away, he doesn’t get far before an arm comes out of nowhere and wraps around his waist before he’s thrown to the ground then sat on.

“What a comfy chair.” Blix says with a huge grin on his face. Turning to face Val he smiles while his cheeks turn slightly red, “Got him.” He says. Seeing this, Val blushes slightly before smiling and moving over towards Blix and Vexon.

“Now then,” Val says, looking at Vexon who is on the ground, “just what were you trying to do to my brother?” She asks, crouching down and looking Vexon dead in the eye. Seeing that he can’t get away again, Vexon keeps his mouth shut, glaring at Val.

“Not like he could do anything to me.” Ren says as he walks up behind Val. Val turns to look at her brother with slight surprise. “What? Just look at him, not even able to do anything against Blix, who is a mage.” Ren says, shrugging his shoulders. “But he’s a pretty special mage.” A voice says from behind them.

Ren and Val both jump before turning around to see Garvross and Melody. “So, this is the brat that’s been giving my son a hard time?” Garvross says, crouching down next to Vexon, who is still being sat on. Looking at Vexon for a while, Garvross smiles, before chuckling slightly, “A little level three Cleric, decided to pick on Ren?” He says, before he starts laughing.

“A Cleric picking a fight with a Martial Artist. Now that is pretty stupid.” Melody say while laughing. Ren looks at Blix, “Let him go, he can’t do much harm.” He says before walking towards one of the food stalls. Blix sighs as he gets off Vexon, ”Get out of here.” He says before following Ren. Val glares at him, before she too, follows Ren and Blix.

“Do you know why you wont beat him?” Garvross asks, causing Vexon to look at him, “It’s because he trains everyday for at least ten to fifteen hours.” He says. Vexon has a look of shock on his face, “Is it possible to catch up to him?” Vexon asks, getting into a sitting position. Garvross smiles and pulls two pieces of paper and hands them to Vexon.

“Here is a training regime for you, and the other one is what Ren, Blix and Val do.” He says, handing over the papers. Vexon takes the papers and looks at them, his eyes widening, “They do all that in a day?” He asks in shock. Garvross chuckles lightly and smiles, “Yep, and they do it everyday.” He says.

Vexon looks up at Garvross, “Thank you.” He says, slightly bowing his head. Melody, who is standing behind Garvross, smiles and says, “You should be thanking Ren, he’s the one who asked Gar to do this for you.”

Vexon looks in Ren’s direction, “You should go get ready for getting your Companion.” Garvross says as he stands up, “And don’t rush things with training, it will do more harm than good.” He says as he smiles.

Vexon nods his head, getting up as he looks at the paper in his hands as he walks away. “He’s going to go far if he tries,” Garvross says with a slight smile, “but, he’ll have to stick with it if he wants to change.” Garvross chuckles as he walks towards the docks.
