"Storm dear, wake up." Darling softly asked.
"This must be heaven. So the man brought me here. I haven't uploaded my pic and gone to Hollywood. Even after my whole speech to repent I'm here." He sobbed.
"You're in the hospital Black. What happened??"
"Oh I was just playing Marco Polo with a guy who had a gun. What do you think happened??"
"Hey don't give me that attitude. I told you to retire a long time ago. Right after, all the other attacks. Remember?? The trouble is, you think you have nine lives."
"The fact is, I have nine lives. But something was different about this one though. It wasn't the normal,"That idiot sentenced my kid",or a jealous rival."

Darling had walked out. She returned with some soup.
"Ed is here." She announced
"More importantly food is here." Storm celebrated.
"Knock,knock." Ed said.
"Since when did you start knocking Ed???
"Since you stared being serious."
"Then never it is." Storm muttered.

Ed sat beside him on the bed.
"Hey watch it,watch it. Delicate egg here." Stormed shouted.
"More like hungry chick." Ed mocked.
The three burst out laughing.
"I've been meaning to ask Ed, where is Irene?"
There was silence.
"I'm i speaking to a tomb??"
"Well Storm, Irene was shot to death."
"That's sad. She was such a hardworking girl. Brought me snacks and stuff. Did her work very well. Well at least I get her pay."
"Storm!!!"Darling reprimanded.
"Sorry Hun,you know I get over losses more easily by using humor."
Ed was trying unsuccessfully to his a grin.
"Doing a damn good job." Darling said.

Ed left an hour later after watching a football game with Storm. Darling was asleep in the bed with Storm. Storm looked at her. Tall with and an olive complexion accompanied with long straight blonde hair made her quite striking. She was slender with a chiseled figure and always held her hair in plaits.

Even pregnant she could still turn him on. He run his hand down his black wavy hair. Got up to use the bathroom.
He looked at himself. Piercing hazel eyes and light complexion. Something was different about the attack. The person hadn't meant to kill him. Not intentionally at least. And to kill Irene.........

The next morning Storm woke up to find Ed beside him.
"Seriously??? No heads up before you barge on on me in this morning? What if I was naked?"
"Then I'd simply close my eyes." Ed responded.
"Very funny. You don't want to view my manliness?"
"More like grossness. Anyway I have some new development. You remember those nut cases you sentenced some years back?"
"How could I forget. Snake,Spider and Scorpion. And their last words;
"Death will have it's birth soon."
"Hmmmmmm......those three psychos are jail birds now."
"What!!!!!! They escaped???"
Ed wasn't listening.
"As a policeman and you as a lawyer won't you agree there were so many loopholes in the case? The woman they robbed and whose husband and son they killed swears the robbers were four. No trace of him if he existed. The three seemed perfectly sound but that's because we failed to have a psychology therapy for them. They are wackos. Weirdos. And nothing was stolen from the house either. We only called it a robbery because there was no other explaination. You have no idea what they did and said in the cells."
"At least we've relocated. The past is buried."
"But the buried resurrects doesn't it?"
Storm was lost in thought.

*******************************
He picked up the newspaper and read as he downed his coffee. The three had broken out and attacked the lawyer. Beautiful. It was all going as planned.
He finished his coffee and limped home.
