Jane buried her face under the covers, digging deeper into the sheets. Even after all these years waking up alone was still a new taste on her tongue.

She managed to drag herself to her mirror. Before her, stood a plump woman. Petite and tan. Her red silky hair fell over her shoulders. Well shaped and with a slender neck and sensual lips. She was still the centre of attraction. Still, the pain of her loss was itched all over her. The scars of her bereavements were clear.

Her glassy eyes were intense from hurt. Her thin arches eyebrows shot upwards as she remembered it all.

Five years ago. Five good years ago. Five since passed away she had lost her husband and son to maniacs. In the young of the night, when she had been asleep with Joe. A knock came........Junior who was not asleep then, had gone down to get it. In all his naïvety. That's when they heard the gunshot and the inhuman cry. They both sat up. Jane run to the bathroom. Joe was just about to reach for his phone when they busted in. They stole nothing which was weird just tortured Joe. She thanked God she never got to know what they did to him.

She waited silently after phoning the police in the bathroom. Joe's  screams were becoming unbearable. She could only pray......and hope. She heard four voices distinctly. Noting that one was female and the rest belonged to males. They seemed to be looking for her. Searching.......

Joe breathed his last and died. She almost went with him. She no longer heard his screams but sirens. Just as they were about to open the bathroom door..the four moved hurriedly out.

She became so overwhelmed she passed out. And later found herself in the ambulance on her way to the hospital.

Later she was told of the deaths and the arrests. She was never the same again. Three of the four had been caught she had reported that she had heard four but no one had believed her. The maniacs had destroyed the surveillance cameras so there was no proof either.

She still loved Joe and felt Junior's presence. He had been bald and stocky. She had fallen in love with him again and again when she looked into his turquoise eyes. His memories were still alive in her. His and their son's.

She had been a psychiatrist and still was. She loved her job more than ever  though she was absentminded most of the time it never affected her work. It gave meaning to her life especially after all she'd gone through. At least mum and dad had been supportive and still are. None of her beauty had left her though, in fact it seemed widowed had crowned her loveliness.

She often wore black which only made her more different and gorgeous. She looked at her schedule.

Interesting, she had a new client and she seemed promising enough.......Gaga. No last name but well maybe she wanted. To be discreet.

She showered and prepared....
