Chapter four: "Idiot."

Dipper's (POV)

When I came home that night, after the movie with Wendy, I was greeted at my bedroom door by Mabel. She was smiling and giggling when she spoke up.

"So, how did it go?" She asked me smiling.

"It was alright." I answered back.

"Did anything exciting happen?" She asked.

I blushed and gulped. Mabel saw this and gasped.

"Something did happen, didn't it?" She asked walking to me.

"What? No! Come on Mabel!" I blushed. She went near my face and spoke up again.

"Woah, woah, woah! Do my eyes deceive me? Is that lip gloss on your cheek?" She asked smiling.

"Uhhhhhhh."

"It is! Did Wendy kiss you?!" She exclaimed.

"No! At least not on the lips. She kissed my cheek! And I kissed her's!" I blurted out.

She screamed like a fangirl and spoke up again.

"I knew it! I knew she liked you!" She exclaimed again.

"What are you talking about, Mabel?" I asked her.

"Dude, you really couldn't figure it out yet? Huh, and I thought you were a know it all." She said smiling.

"Mabel, what do you mean Wendy likes me? Don't you remember? She friend zoned me a long time ago. Why would she like me now?" I asked her.

"Dipper, when we first got back here I caught Wendy staring at you. It's obvious that she likes you. Or should I say love?" She winked.

"Well, maybe she does. But that doesn't mean that I have the guts to ask her out." I hanged my head. Mabel frowned and spoke up again.

"Dipper, you like Wendy, Wendy likes you, what's holding you back?" She asked.

"I don't want to mess up our friendship Mabel. Yes, I do still like her a lot, but how can I ask her out?" I asked her. She smiled and spoke up again.

"Well, why not ask her out tomorrow when she comes in for her shift?" She asked.

I smiled and nodded at her. After our talk I went to bed. When I woke up the next morning, I went go find Wendy. I went into the gift shop and sure enough Wendy was there reading a magazine. I gulped and put on a brave face, and walked up to her.

"Um, hi Wendy." I spoke up.

She turned to me and smiled.

"Hey Dipper. Listen, about yesterday, I'm sorry about all that. I wasn't sure what I was doing and I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable." She frowned at me almost guilty. I shook my head and spoke up.

"Nah, you did nothing wrong. And sorry for staring at you earlier." I said to her. She smiled and spoke up once again.

"It's alright man. Anyway, now that that's all out of the way what's up?" She asked.

"Oh nothing, but I was wondering if you would um, join me on a walk?" I asked her.

"Yeah, sure." She nodded.

We shared a smile and she got out for her post.

"Ready when you are." She smiled.

I nodded and we went out the door. A walk?! Am I serious?! Why didn't I just go for it?! Ugh! My God I'm an idiot!

Wendy's (POV)

Did I seriously agree to a walk?! Why didn't I just ask him out?! Ugh I'm such an idiot! Oh well, I guess it could be worse right? As me and Dipper walked into the forest, I wasn't even paying attention to the time, so I don't know how long it's been since we walked, but all of a sudden we heard a growling noise coming from the bushes. Remember when I just said it could not be worse? Yeah, I was wrong.
