Why now? (Wendip Love Story)

Chapter nine: "I love you."

Wendy's (POV)

As me and Dipper walked together holding hands, he kept looking weird at me. Like I was hiding something from him. But honestly I was. I was planning on doing something nice for Dipper, but he didn't know that yet obviously. I was hoping on giving him his surprise later on tonight. The night before I made something for Dipper, and I was excited to see his face when I gave it to him. As we walked down the street, I was really nervous. We were heading back to my place for a movie, and it was also at that time when I'll give Dipper his gift. I saw my house coming up I'm the distance, and I smiled. I let go of Dipper's hand and ran ahead. I opened the door Dipper came after me.

I let the door open for him, and he walks in. I walk in behind him, and close the door behind me. I walk up the stairs with Dipper not to far behind. The whole time I was smiling, I was excited to give him his gift. When we got into my room I grabbed a neatly wrapped up box and held it behind my back.

"Okay spill." Dipper says out of no where.

"Spill what?" I asked nervous.

"Don't play dumb, I know you're up to something." He points at me. I was scared but I couldn't help but smile.

"Okay you got me, I was planning something." I gulped and held out the box for Dipper. He was stunned to see it, but grabbed it with his shaking hands. He held it in his hands, and looked at me.

"Where did you...?" I cut him off

"I didn't, I made it." I told him. He nodded and opened the box. Inside was a hand made flannel hat. Dipper smiled at the hat and hugged me. I blushed but I held him back.

"So I take it you like it?" I asked him.

"Like it? I love it! But not as much as I love you Wendy." He hugged me again, and I smiled.

"I love you too dork." I held him tight, and smiled. I think at that point we both completely forgot about the movie. Months passed and me and Dipper, have became closer and closer as the days go by. Dipper even asked me to be his girlfriend, which of course I said yes to. Today was our three month anniversary, and Dipper told me he had a surprise for me. He put a blind fold on me, and lead me by the hand.

"We're almost there." He tells me, holding my hand.

"Darn it Dipper, what is it?" I asked excited. He then takes off my blind fold and I see a tree with a carved in heart on it. In that heart were me and Dipper's initials. I blushed and smiled at the tree. I tuned to Dipper, and he was wearing the hat I made him. I smiled as he speaks up.

"Well, what do you think?" Dipper asked me. I answered with a hug. He hugged me back and spoke up.

"I love you Wendy." He told me.

"I love you too Dipper." I said back.

I never thought that after three years of knowing Dipper, I would ever date him. I guess back then, I didn't know what I was missing. Now I do, and boy did I miss a lot. But I'm not making that mistake again. That's a fact. Because I love him, and who knows maybe I always did and never knew it? But I do know now and if he thinks I'm going to let him go, he better think again.
