Charlotte's POV
As soon as we got to this party, Luke abandoned me to go off with his buddies. That's fine. I don't mind really. This gives me the opportunity to mingle with whoever I want to. I can't help myself when I send Katherine a quick text. I don't know why I do it. I also don't know why I had to work extra hard not to ask her if she was going to be at this party. It's none of my business if she's coming here. She's probably out with some guy. A girl who looks like that probably has offers from every guy within a 4 county radius asking her out.
When I receive a response from her I find myself giddy with anticipation and then blushing at her response. I try for several minutes to come up with a response. However, everything I type out just seems silly. I give up with Jessica appears next to me shoving a drink in my hand. I'm thankful. I need a drink and I needed a distraction.
"Where's princess charming?" I ask looking around for her boyfriend.
"He's over there when the some of his band buddies passing around the guitar. I love him, but I was tired of hearing them play the same song over and over again. While discussing whether the guitar is tuned correctly or not."
We continue to talk and laugh into the night. We are having fun and I am starting to feel a good bit tipsy. I look towards the bonfire and see Katherine. My heart skips a beat at first seeing her in the dress she is wearing. She looks like a toned, tanned, golden angel. Then I feel something I've never felt before, white hot anger that clouds my vision slightly. Is she flirting with that girl? The way the girl is giggling and leaning into her it is clear that the girl wants her.
I don't have time to process why I'm feeling this way and I don't remember crossing the yard. However, when I sit down and glare at the young girl she looks terrified and hurries off. I quickly wipe the smirk off my face as Katherine turns glaring at me. Her facial expression quickly turns to amused when she sees me.
"Hello there," she smiles at me. "Why'd you run off... Sorry I didn't catch her name..."
I quirk an eyebrow at her and then I can't help, but laugh. "Her name is Mary and she is a freshman. Her father is the pastor of that big church downtown. By the way, I didn't "run" her off. I don't know what her problem is. She probably ran home to pray for forgiveness."
She's staring at me in shock now and suddenly she is laughing. A long pause settles over us and then she turns to me and says in a husky tone, "I'm glad you ran her off. You're much more fun." Then she gives me a wink."
It's my turn to stare at her in shock. She's not into girls is she? Was she flirting with Mary? Wait! Is she flirting with me? Is she into me? What is happening here? She sighs and find her drink suddenly interesting. After a long pause she puts her hand on her thigh and inadvertently rubs her fingers against my outer thigh.
Electricity shoots through my body and suddenly I want more and less of her touch all at once. I have definitely drank too much. What is wrong with me right now? I am having a hard time keeping my breathing under control. I don't know what her touch is doing to me and I can't help it when I place my hand on my knee and rub my fingers along her knee much as she is doing to me. The sudden intake of breath she has is a very nice reward.
I am snapped out of my fog by Luke calling my name and running up to me. He reaches out and grabs my hand pulling me up. He is rambling about missing me and wanting to get a refill on drink and maybe dance a bit. I let him drag me off as I try not to steal a glance back at Katherine. I'm not sure what just happened between us. However I am sure that alcohol was a major factor.
Inside Luke's buddies and some of their girlfriends are all gathered in the kitchen playing a drinking game. We join in and before I know it the room is having a hard time staying upright. The room was spinning and I felt like the words in my brain weren't coming out of my mouth.
Luke grabbed my hand and pulled me up the stairs. Upstairs he tried several doors before finding one that was unlocked. He pulled into the room and closed the door smashing his mouth into mine. His kisses were hungry and urgent. His hands were originally on my hips pulling me into him, but now one was pawing at my breasts while the other was wrapped around my lower back.
I couldn't breath. We were moving way too fast. We've had some pretty steamy make out sessions, but they usually started out as innocent little kisses and then led into something more intense. However this started intense and I felt like I was spinning out of control. I put my hands on Luke's chest to push him away, but he didn't seem to notice. Instead he pushed his body further into mine causing me to fall backwards onto the bed.
When he started kissing and biting down my jaw and neck I was finally able to breath. "Luke, stop. Too. Fast. Slow down." I gasped out.
"Shhh. It's ok, baby. I'll make you feel good," he said between kisses.
"No, Luke! Stop! Get off me! No!" I screamed out more insistent now.
"Shhh. Someone will hear you. We don't want anyone interrupting this do we?" He said kissing further down my neck and roughly biting my shoulder as one of his hands groped my breast and the other fought with my dress to bring it up between us. His rough hands were on my things demanding entrance, pushing my legs further apart.
"No!" I cut out again. This earned me a sharp slap across my cheek making me cry out in pain. I was stunned for a moment. I came back to my senses when I felt this hands trying to pull my panties down. "No! Help! Someone, help!" I screamed as I started to hit and kick at him. This time he didn't slap me. No, he punched me. My vision was starting to fade as I realized he was going to rape me and there wasn't anything I could do.
One minute his weight was on me crushing me and the next it was gone. I sobbed and pulled myself up into a ball knowing that it was just a matter of time before his weight and hands would be back on me. However, they never came. Instead what I felt was gentle hands rubbing my back and while a soft, soothing voice repeated over and over that it was all over and that I would be ok.
