When I enter the apartment Lydia is no where to be found. I go change my clothes, carefully hanging the Burberry dress in the closet, then walk into the kitchen and see a note on the counter.
Alex,
If you're home before I get back, I ran to the store to pick some stuff up for dinner. I'll be back around 4:30.
-Lydia
P.S. You'll be explaining where YOU went last night, so be prepared.
I sigh and go sit on the couch. My stomach grumbles and, realizing I really haven't eaten all day, I head into the kitchen and rummage through the cabinets until I find a bag of Doritos.
I plop back down on the couch and turn on the tv. Scrolling through the channels and deciding nothing is really worth watching, I put on the news for some background noise as I grab the newspaper off the coffee table in front of me.
As I'm into the comics section of the paper, I hear the door open and Lydia yell, "Hello?"
"Hey, Lyd." I reply
"Alex! Goodness, where were you last night? I came home pretty early this morning and you weren't here. I was going to text you but I realized if you were getting a little," she wiggles her eyebrows at me, "then I should just let you be."
"Well, I don't really remember what I was 'getting' last night, all I remember is-" I pause and wonder if I should tell Lydia the truth or just play it off like I slept with a guy.
"I woke up and was in someones bed but they weren't there." I decide not to tell her, "But I don't think we did anything, because I was still in my clothes."
I realize then that I had actually left my clothes at Cara's house. Of course.
"Oh," Lydia says, a bit disappointed, "well, thats nice. You probably passed out or something and maybe he was decent enough to not totally take advantage of you."
"Yeah. Maybe." I sigh.
Lydia walks into the kitchen and begins making dinner. I sit back on the couch and continue reading the newspaper.
"Did you miss your meeting?" she asked me and I shook my head.
"No. I took a cab from the house and got there in time."
"Oh, good then. How did it go?"
"Went pretty well. He had me do a photo shoot before I even gave him any more pictures and wants me to come back tomorrow for another."
Lydia squeals, "Ooo, who was it?"
I cough quietly, "Ehm, Cara."
"What?" she says, it seems Lydia didn't hear me.
"I.. I photographed Cara."
Lydia stops what shes doing to turn around and stare me in the eyes. "You photographed who?" she says like she wasn't quite sure if she heard me right.
"Cara.." I say slowly, "Cara Delevingne."
Lydia's eyes almost pop out of her head,
"YOU DID A PHOTO SHOOT WITH CARA FUCKING DELEVINGNE?"
I nod, not expecting her to react any other way.
"CARA FRICKEN DELEVINGNE? THE SUPERMODEL?"
I nod again.
"ON YOUR FIRST PHOTOSHOOT YOU PHOTOGRAPHED THE CARA DELEVINGNE."
I look at her seriously and she calms down.
