Song - Only Love ; Mumford & Sons

Cara's POV

The guy, Lucas, walks out of the shop and I swear, my eyes could shoot daggers at him. Was he really thinking he could flirt with my girl?

No. No one can, she's mine.

"Come on, love." I say to Alex as she stands there in shock.

Grabbing her hand, I lightly tug her behind me. "We can go home now, watch a movie or something." I say to her but she just stands there, eyes locked in one place, right where Lucas was standing only moments ago.

"Love?" I mumble, not letting go of her hand, and when she turns to look at me I can see the tears forming in her eyes.

"Oh, love," I say and engulf her in my arms as the tears make their way down her face, "please, don't cry. I hate to see you cry."

"What did I do?" She mumbles to herself and I shake my head, pulling away from her and placing my hands on the side of her face.

"No, love, you didn't do anything. It's alright, it's alright, I promise love." I say as I try to calm her down but the tears keep streaming down her face.

"I-I can't, he, Lucas-" she tries to put her sentences together but can't place them. I pull her face up as she begins to look down.

"Love," I begin, "it's not your fault. He'll be alright. It would've hurt him more had he seen it somewhere else."

"And, I'm sorry, love." I say to her, "I didn't know. Had I known- I-" I choke up a little, not sure what to say.

She shakes her head as more tears begin to stream down her face like a river.

"Hey, hey," I say, "don't. Don't cry, love."

She looks at me and all I can see is hurt and sadness in her eyes. I pull her face closer to mine, and let my lips linger on hers for just a moment. When I pull away, there's a slight blush on her cheeks, and no more tears coming down for now.

"Lets go home."

••••••

The ride in the taxi took longer than expected due to the late-night London traffic. When we're about to pull up in front of my apartment, I see them.

All of them.

Like a swarm of bees around a hive. I curse under my breath and Alex removes her head from my shoulder, where she had almost been sleeping.

"They're fucking everywhere, I swear." I mumble as she looks out the window to see what I'm complaining about.

"It's okay, Cara." Alex says to me and grabs my hand, bringing it up to meet her lips. "They can't hurt you, or anything."

"They're just annoying." I say, "It's like I can barely get a break with them, honestly."

Alex shakes her head and just laughs before opening the taxi door without warning and stepping out.

"Alex!" I yell to her and she ignores me, heading to the trunk to grab our bags. I quickly follow after her, amidst the paps, and help her grab a few bags.

"I swear..." I mumble under my breath as I hear the paparazzi asking question after question while I try to reach the front door of my house. I hear one of them ask if we're fucking, and I immediately turn around.

"Shut the fuck up!" I yell back towards where the question came from, giving them both of my middle fingers.

The next one I hear almost stops me in my tracks.
