Once Elie was finished packing, he left for class. Though he was a little disappointed that he didn't get free time like everybody else, this class was very important. It was the sole reason why he was attending this school. This class would teach Elie how to adjust to society without revealing his biggest secret. Using the map he was given, Elie soon found himself in front of a gorgeous pavillion that was set on the water. Though it was one of the most beautiful things he had ever seen, Elie had a feeling that most of the students wouldn't notice it unless they were looking. When he entered, Elie noticed that there were only about 13 other kids. As he entered, he was startled by a loud voice. "AAAAH! I see that our last student has finally arrived!," said an overly peppy voice. Elie looked to see a woman with curly orange-blonde hair that was pulled back into a ponytail. She wore a long, patterned skirt with a sea-foam colored blouse. Her face was adorned with freckles, but they only seemed to make her more charming. "Let me guess," she said. "Your name is Elie." "Yeah," he replied. "Aha! I was right!" she beamed. "Well, now that your classmate has joined us, we can begin," she said as she headed towards the center of the room. "Today we won't be doing much, but first I would like to go over the rules. First of all, you are not to tell anyone outside this classroom what you are. If you do, you and the human you told will be expelled." Quite a few students had a look of shock on their faces, Elie being one of them. "Next, you are not to go into the water without supervision." A lot of groans filled the room. "Wait, I didn't finish," said the teacher. "The school rules say that you are not to go into the water without supervision, however, I always like to think that it's not breaking the rules unless you get caught." A lot of the students smiled at her remark. "I do advise caution though," she added. "I trust that all of you know when and where it is safe to swim." A few nodded their heads. "The third and final rule is as follows... You are required to have fun in my class," the teacher said with a smile. "My name is Mrs. Shelsea and I will be your teacher for this class. Now, most of you already know that you are different from everybody else. This is because you belong to a hidden race called the Naideu (Nai-jiu). During these first couple of years, you will start to go through changes. Ladies, you will feel the urge to sing a lot, and men you will feel the urge to swim. Let me give you some advice. Don't. Fight the urge with all you've got, because 40% of Naideu get caught because they choose to comply. There will be times when it is okay to satisfy these urges, but please try to refrain from doing so outside of class. There are some of you who may never experience these symptoms. There are others who will go insane because the urge is so great. It is important that all of you learn to get along and help each other, because it is a lot harder to go through this alone than with friends. Within these first two years, you will also start to develop your powers. Be careful. Sometimes they may go out of control. When that happens, you need to find me or a classmate and stay away from humans. They may be dense at times, but they are not stupid. They will know if something is out of the ordinary. Most of you already know this, but you will only transform if you touch saltwater. Normal water is okay to touch, smell, drink, etc. Some of you may have noticed that your uniforms are slightly different than the others. That is because they were made with magic thread that will allow you to transform without ruining your uniform. It will simply disappear into a dimensional pocket until you turn back. In this class, you will learn to control your powers and blend into society when necessary. Are there any questions?" A girl with strawberry blonde hair in the sunlight raised her hand. "Yes Miranda?" the teacher responded. "Um, what if you accidentally get caught by a human?" she asked. The teacher stood in silence for a moment. "I'm not sure," she said. "It's never happened at this academy." Barely audible whispers started to fill the room. "Alright, that's all I needed to tell you today, real class will start tomorrow," Mrs. Shelsea said with a clap of her hands. The students started to leave and all that Elie could think about was "What if I was caught?"
