Chapter 9: Juliette and Dylan
Ashley's POV
"Look what I got," Nathan grins as he holds two tickets between his thumb and pointer finger, "Tickets to the Annual Ball."
"How did you even manage to get those?" My jaw drops open.
He winks at me, "Juliette."
Of course.
Why didn't I think of that?
He's been with her since we landed here, which was two hours ago. He hadn't even been to our hotel room before this. He just dropped me off to the room and then left. That's it.
I give him a tight smile, "What time does it start?" I say as I steal one of the tickets from him.
"6 o' clock."
"But I don't have a dress."
"It's all been taken care of, shortie. Juliette's friend owns a fashion store and she's ready to give us what we need for free."
"Free?"
"Courtesies of Juliette."
"Oh," I say, my lips in a small grin, "That's great."
He grabs my hand and drags me out the room, shutting the door behind him as he makes his way out of the hotel.
He takes me to the same Audi that we came in when we landed which took us to the store we were supposed to go to.
On entering, I was in awe. The store was beautiful. Completely beautiful.
The walls were a light yellow with artificial flowers hanging all around in cases. The lights were dimmed to keep the theme and a sweet aroma could be smelt.
Dresses and tuxedo's were hung up on racks after racks, lining up the walls.
"You go search for a dress and I'll find my tux?" Nathan questions me.
I bite my lower lip, nodding my head in agreement.
I actually wanted us to shop together because I wanted someone's opinion but I won't force him to do that when he clearly wants to be alone.
Walking towards the racks of dresses, I decide which colour I want my dress to be.
Blue.
Maybe a baby blue or a turquoise one? Those always look good.
With that in mind, I started my search. Ten minutes later, I had shortlisted 3 dresses with the help of a lady worker who looked to be my age.
With the 3 dresses in hand, I walked into the trial room, closing the door behind myself.
I try on the first dress and walk outside, giving Taylor, the worker, a smile as I twirled around in it.
"Girl, you look gorgeous," she compliments me, "But this is not it. Go try on the other one,"
"Stop trying to flatter me," I playfully roll my eyes at her.
She narrows her eyes at me and I lift my hands up in surrender, walking back inside the room.
Turns out the second dress wasn't made for me either.
Nor the third.
