If I'm louder, would you see me? ~Niall Horan (One Direction)
Chapter 12: Questions and Answers
Ashley's POV
Walking down the hallway with Adrian's arm wrapped around my waist, I made my way to my English class.
True to his word, Adrian picked me up and dropped me home everyday except Fridays, the day that he had basketball practice after school. On Fridays, I was supposed to stay back after school with Adrian until his practice was over and then go home with him.
I had seen Nathan a few times these days but Adrian wouldn't leave me alone long enough to talk to him.
He had made me message Nathan and tell him that I was back with Adrian and wanted nothing to do with him.
Adrian had also tapped into my phone in such a way that all messages that Nathan would send me and their replies by me would also get forwarded to his phone. That way I wouldn't be able to reply to any of Nathan's messages without him knowing about it.
Chloe, Austin and Nick were also pissed at me because I was back with Adrian. Chloe was actually rooting for Nathan and I to end up together.
"I'll see you after class, babe." Adrian pecks my lips and then walks away, leaving me glaring daggers at his head.
My phone buzzed, indicating a message.
I pull it out of my pocket, opening the message to see it was from Adrian.
'Don't glare at me like that. People might get suspicious and you know what I'll do if that happens.' It read.
'It won't happen again.' I replied even though all I wanted to do was flip him off.
I turn to walk into my classroom but before I could, a hand grabbed my wrist and dragged me along with themselves.
"What the heck?" I question and try to pull my wrist away but the person only tightens his grasp before he says, "Shut up and walk."
"Nathan?" I jog forward to catch up with the person to see that it actually was Nathan. "What are you doing?"
"Since you won't reply to my calls or texts and that son of a bitch is always with you, this is the only option I have." He says, anger clear in his voice.
"Nate please, I have to go." I twist my wrist which was in his hand to loosen his grip but it didn't work. "I-"
"You're not going anywhere till you give me the answers I want." He glares at me making me gulp.
"I can't." I look down at the ground.
"You can and you will." He answers before throwing me over his shoulder and running down the hallway and into one of the empty classrooms.
He lets me down and then turns around to lock the door, blocking my way outside.
He crosses his arms over his chest and gives me a questioning glance.
"What?" I ask him when he doesn't say anything.
He stares at me for a second before saying, "Why are you ignoring me?"
"Because I want nothing to do with you. I don't like you and I certainly don't want to give you any false hope."
"You don't like me?" His eyes darken a bit as he takes a step in my direction followed by another.
"N-no." I try to hold my own.
"Then what happened in New York?" Now, he's only a few feet away from me.
"I-that was a mistake. I was missing Adrian and you were the only one there and-"
Our chests were lightly brushing now.
"So you don't feel this?" He cuts me off as he takes my hand and places it over my heart which was racing right now.
"I don't like you," I repeat.
"That's not what I asked."
"That's because I don't wanna be here and also because you're making me skip class."
"Really? So if I kissed you right now, you wouldn't kiss me back?" He questions, hooking his fingers in the waistband of my jeans to pull me closer.
When I heard what he said, I immediately tried pulling away but, of course, it didn't work. When does it?
He leans forward, gently and passionately kissing my lips as one of his hands finds their way in my hair, keeping my head steady as his other arm is wrapped around my waist, keeping me from running away.
After a few minutes of us kissing each other, he pulls away and I immediately miss the warmth of his lips on mine.
No! I can't think like that.
I look down to see a phone in his hands. My phone.
I scoff.
So that's why he kissed me.
"Give that back," I put my hand out so that he could place it there.
Instead of giving it back to me, he unlocks it and searches through my phone for something.
"How the heck do you know my password?"
"Next time choose one better than 9876." He chuckles and continues goes through my stuff.
"Ever heard of privacy before?" I wrap my arms around myself, knowing that it was over. Nate would find out about Adrian.
As if on cue, Nate looks up at me, "What the hell?"
"He knows about you and the Blood Howlers, Nate."
