"Ok, one more push Taraji...You're almost there, keep going" said the doctor. Tyrese stood beside her & held her hand. "You're doing great, baby. You got this" he encouraged. She gave it all of her might, pushing this one last time counting to ten in her head. She held her breath & once she heard the whimper of the baby, she exhaled.
"It's a girl" the doctor said as he placed the baby on Taraji's bare chest. "It's a beautiful baby girl." Tyrese wiped tears from his eyes as he looked down at his Queen & Princess. "She's beautiful, just like her mommy" he said as he watched Taraji caress the infants face. "She looks just like TJ to me" she laughed. Once the baby was cleaned up, Bernice, Marcell, TJ, Shayla & Priscilla all came to see her. Taraji held her in her arms as Marcell placed TJ onto the bed with them.
"This is your baby sister. Say hi to Dalila Chriki."
"Dalila, what?" asked Priscilla.
"It means Gentle Blessing in Swahili" she said as she looked down at her daughter. "Since my father gave me Swahili names, I wanted to do the same for my baby girl."
"Dalila Chriki Gibson. It's perfect" said Bernice. "Just like her."
"Baby" said TJ as he pointed over to her. The room erupted with laughter.
It was a somber feeling, a feeling that couldn't be described. A complete family they were now. Everything was perfect. Later that night when everyone went home, Tyrese just sat in the reclining chair, next to the hospital bed Taraji was sleeping in. He held Dalila in his arms & promised to give her the world.
"You'll never want for anything. Mommy & Daddy love you. Your big brothers & sister love you. You have amazing grandparents, awesome Aunts & Uncles, a lot of cousins...You're set & you're perfect, looking just like your mommy. You're brother TJ was my twin, guess Taraji's genes won the battle this time" he smiled. He just looked at her in awe.
