Chapter 10

Seth walked into his office to find his sister there. He saw Rachael was there, waiting for him. He asked, already annoyed, "What are you doing here?"

"I covered for you yesterday. Don't worry, I just told them you had personal issues you had to deal with." She plainly said.

"Thanks." He said genuinely. He was relieved she didn't tell anyone about what happened. Rachael didn't understand, he knew no one else would.

He walked over to his desk and sat down. She started to say, "Look, Seth..."

"Rachael, I am not in the mood for any of your cra..."

She cut him off, "Seth, all I was going to say was that I am sorry."

"Oh."

"So, how is she?"

"Better. Especially since her best friend, Anne, is here. I feel a little more at ease about coming in with her there with Michelle."

"That's good."

He the sighed and looked at her. "Look, I brought up about her getting help to her. A first, she wasn't too happy about it. But after sometime, she decided that it might be the best thing for her."

Rachael eyebrow hitched up and she said, surprised, "Really?"

"Yeah." He sat back in his chair. "But I told her I'd be there for her ever step of the way."

She nodded. She looked at him and said, "Look, I do not know her. I just saw something I didn't like, especially since you were involved. It scared me when I thought you got yourself in a crazy situation with this girl. Like when she threw that glass at you. I don't know. My mind went a mile a minute. Even though I am younger then you, I still want to protect you. But I am glad she is going to see someone. I just want what is best for you."

"I understand. But even you said I have been happier. This was one time. I cannot say that another day like yesterday will not happen again. But she is going to go get the help to try to prevent it or at least have her not act out like that. Look, she loves me and I love her so we..."

"Wait? Did you say you two love each other?"

Seth realized he said it outloud and smiled to himself. "Yeah, we do." He replied. Then continued, "Like I was saying, we are going to do whatever it takes to make this work between us."

She smiled at her brother and asked, "She really makes you happy, huh?"

"You have no idea." He said with a smile.

"Okay," She said to her brother. "Then I want to really met her then. Start over and get to know who this girl really is. Maybe we can arrange that?"

"I'll talk to Michelle, but I don't see a problem with that." He said a little happy his sister was warming up to the idea of him and Michelle.

Michelle and Anne decided to go out for lunch. Michelle pulled up to the restaurant and noticed all the paparazzi outside. Her nerves just rattled, really not wanting to deal with them the day after the tabloids came out about Zac. Anne noticed her anxiety flaring up and said, "We do not have to go in. We can leave."

Michelle quickly shook her head. "No," she stated, "Cause then they win. I refuse to let them make me a prisoner."

They both stepped out of Michelle's truck as the valet quickly met her and took her keys as he gave her a ticket. They started to walk through the crowd of paparazzi as they shot their cameras and asked questions, questions about Zac and the newest tabloid that came out. Anne grabbed Michelle's hand as they tried to get through. The questions started to take a toll on Michelle. 'Is it true he was intoxicated?' 'Cheyl, how do you feel what the latest tabloids had to say about Zac?' She felt her chest get heavy and tears started to stream down her face. They finally got inside the restaurant. As soon as they did and away from prying eyes of the paparazzi, Michelle put herself up against a wall and was breathing heavily. Anne instantly was by her friend's side. She noticed the tears rolling down Michelle's face. She said in a calm voice as she took her friend's hand, "Michelle, you need to listen to my voice. You need to take slow, deep breaths."
