So there you have it. My second story :)
Shadowheart was an idea that just popped out in my early years in high school. I have friends who have been victims of bullying or have neglectful parents and from their stories I created Dahlia. Dahlia to me is someone who doesn't let anyone or anything get to her. At first she may appear vulnerable, but despite the circumstances, before and after obtaining her powers, she always held her ground and still doesn't treat anyone differently. People can easily judge her because of how she looks but when you get to know her she's one of the nicest people you'd know. She grows in character with her powers, and she'll be part of something great one day.
I wanna thank my friends for their support and my family for the endless amounts of love.
And to anyone who is going through something in life... Stay put, stay positive, good things will come to your life. It will get better. :)
Easter eggs:
-In the game Street Fighter, which Dahlia and Alex were playing in Chapter 6, Dahlia played as Ryu and Alex played as Akuma. In the game, Ryu possesses a dark energy inside of him called the Satsui No Hado (Surge of Murderous Intent in English). Akuma, who was completely consumed by the Hado, tries to seduce Ryu into letting it consume him as well to become more powerful than what he is now, but Ryu doesn't allow such evil to be released. Such is the case which Alex tries to seduce Dahlia into getting revenge against her classmates and tormenters, trying to convince her that they'll finally have the peace they want.
-The 2nd cover was designed by Lizette Rodriguez. Due to potential copyright issues I couldn't keep the first one. Still, wanted to say "Gracias Lizzie!" ("Thank you, Lizzie!" She can't speak English, that's why I translated)
-Daniel mentions a comic called "SCAT Squad" in Chapter 10 and it is still mentioned throughout. It is a separate project I'm working on with my friend Pedro as a co-writer.
-In chapter 21, Dahlia's made up ice cream moustache persona Wilfred Pinkstache is a mock of Wilford Warfstache, a character created by the youtuber Markiplier.
-Daniels friends Frank and Mason were named after the lead characters of the COD: Black Ops series.
