Chapter 30

-"This is Channel 6 Evening News at 11, with Trevor Wallace and Tammy Carter."

-"Good evening, I'm Trevor Wallace.

-"And I'm Tammy Carter and welcome to Channel 6 Evening News. Our top story tonight... An attack on the normally quiet town of Saint León, New Mexico is ongoing as a strange creature is rampaging through the streets."

KSSSHHH!

-"This is NBC Nightly News, New York, with Lester Holt."

-"Good evening, I'm Lester Holt with breaking news. An unknown creature is attacking the town of Saint León in New Mexico. The attack began at around 10pm at a local residence where several bodies were found dead. It's presumed that the creature was formerly human. The suspect, identified as Alexandra Caldwell, has undergone a strange transformation as compared through these two pictures. Alexandra appeared formerly as a normal teenager with previous criminal records, but in the other picture taken by a witness' phone, she appeared with a more monstrous appearance. Elongated, muscular limbs and some kind of dark smoke in her arms."

KSSSHHH!

-"This is Morning News England, Channel 7."

-"Good morning, everyone. I'm Charles Willingson."

-"And I am Leslie Towman."

-"Our top story today, Armitech's established space program, Project ATLAS, is now approved by multiple governments as they are constructing a ship that will "take us into the infinite universe that is yet to be discovered." This leads to a controversial budget which has people protesting against Armitech as it is rumored they are using government taxes to fund the project."

-"In other world news, an attack is ongoing in the United States. A strange creature is on a wild rampage across the town of Saint León on the state of New Mexico. But there is a girl confronting the creature. Apparently this girl has strange blades protruding beneath a strange black smoke in her arms. This footage from CNN features the extraordinary battle that is still ongoing. You can tune in online to see the live battle going on American soil."

Dahlia gets back on her feet, looking around the empty refinery. Eerily quiet, save for the sirens and helicopters hovering over. Bleeding and with her blades up, Dahlia doesn't let her guard down. Oblivion could be there at any moment. Dahlia starts to shake... She has never fought so hard against someone before... Especially her best friend. Both of them have fought in video games, with tickles and pillows... But never in a colossal battle all over town. Such mighty strength that both of them have... Dahlia still has her state of mind intact... Unlike Oblivion, whose mind was reduced to hatred. Dahlia knows that because of her rage, Oblivion will relentlessly go after her until she kills her... She was never prepared for such a challenge. She may have no choice but to take a life. Her best friends life... No... She wasn't her best friend anymore... She's a monster... But then again... Does she really have it? The guts to kill someone? She has killed that demon back in the alley, but it was an accident. She's afraid to die... But she's afraid to kill as well.

A loud metallic grinding noise is heard. She looks aside and sees a giant tank of propane sliding to her. She jumps away as the tank hits another one, exploding upon impact. Two more tanks explode by chain reaction, and Dahlia rolls away from falling debris. Oblivion throws a forklift to Dahlia. Jumping away, she gets back up summoning her tentacles. Oblivion jumps in and summons her blades. She inhales, sounding like a raspy laughter. Smiling sinisterly, she approaches Dahlia.

-"Mmm... Fresh meat..."

-"If it's a fight you want, Alex... Then it's a fight you'll get!" She swings her tentacle at Oblivion, to which she dodges it. Laughing at her, Dahlia latches her tentacle onto a column. She pulls it, and lots of propane cannisters roll down to Oblivion, knocking her off. Oblivion throws several cannisters at Dahlia, to which Dahlia has tied Oblivions arm. Oblivion rolls Dahlias tentacle closely and pulls her in. Oblivion punches Dahlia as she pulled her in, but Dahlia was still tied to her, so Oblivion pulled her in again and tackled her. Dahlia dropped her tentacles into Oblivions legs and ties them together, knocking her off her feet. Dahlia rolls away and switches to her blades she jumps onto Oblivions back to stab it... But she knocks her off. Obliviom rolls wildly, slamming her arms onto the ground before she headed off to Dahlia. Dahlia soon retracted her blades and uppercutted Oblivion. Because of her augmented strength, Oblivion was knocked away. She summons one blade and thrusts it into Oblivion, stabbing her right shoulder.
