VI. WHO WILL I EVER BE TO YOU?

my mind is faded
because those blue eyes
( or are they brown? )
keep staring,
right into it.

i might be tired, but i still remember.
what do i remember?
the way you kiss my cheek
early in every morning;
lost gazes that travel
across the room;
heavy unspoken words
that linger in the air
and all that's still waiting
to be said.

these dreams are wearing me out,
i'll never have your love,
but they insist on haunting me.
it'll never be enough, i want more.
dreaming makes love seem
so much easier.

there are others much more
significant than me,
and they're who i wish i could be.
because they are the ones you love,
the ones they love:
everyone loves them.

i'm just another shadow,
the one whose name you'll never say.
i'm just another rock in the road,
the one you kick away.

-- to that one person who, at some point in our lives, we've all met and who became something much more to us than we hoped they would (but it stills seems as if we're no one to them).
