Chapter 5: Ametures
I put the customers orders on the bench and made my way over to Alice.
"Sorry, what was the other table?" I asked.
"Table 7"
I turned my head to table 7 to see familiar people.
God sake. I do have bad luck. At the table was Tyler and his friends Hayden and Connor. I am definitely not serving Tyler. He literally has no manners. And probably eats like a pig.
I turned back to Alice "Please don't make me serve that table" I pleaded hoping that she'd understand.
Alice looked at me confused before looking at table 7. She gave a low whistle "Table full of hotties, every girls dream" Alice stared at them dreamily.
"Well it's your lucky day, you can serve them" I said pushing Alice towards them.
"Hang on, why?" Alice asked turning around to face me.
Because he bumped into me without offering a hand.
"I'm not really in the mood" I said rubbing my arms.
"Your lying" Alice replied referring to my gesture.
"What? No I'm not" I lied.
"Anyway it wasn't a good enough answer, go" Alice replied walking back to the cash register.
This girl was impossible. Ok it's easy. Just take their order.
I could feel my heart beating wildly as I made my way to their table.
Every step seemed to slow down and all I could feel was nervousness. Or nauseous.
"May I please take your order" I said mastering a fake smile, my voice coming out strong.
"Aren't you the girl from our school?" Hayden asked squinting his eyes to get a better look at me.
"Yeah, your the one I asked the answers for. And the one that bumped into me" Tyler replied staring at me.
Excuse me, I'm pretty sure that he's the one that bumped into me. Boys are so infuriating. I bit back any words that were willing to come out of my mouth as I know, I would regret them.
"What's your name again?" Tyler asked checking me out.
Of course. Should've saw that coming.
"Thats none of your concern, can I please take your order" I repeated getting irritated.
"Fiesty, I like it" Tyler replied smirking.
I rolled my eyes at him this time not regretting it.
"Order please" I repeated trying to control my anger. Deep breaths, I kept repeating in my head. They're just messing with you. Don't give them the response they want.
"She rolled her eyes at me, so cute" Tyler commented, making the others laugh.
That last comment made my blood boil and something inside of me snapped. Unfortunately that was the last straw.
"Excuse me, but I've tried to be nice to you and you still don't seem to understand. Get your head out of your ass and come back to reality. Stop living in your fantasy and come to the realisation that you don't have every girl falling at your feet at your command. So please go ahead and continue to be a jerk but if you don't start learning your manners, you'll still be the same kid that hasn't matured enough to become an adult. Now can I take your order?" I snapped.
Tyler looked stunned, his face frozen. Whilst Conner kept his eyes down at the menu to stop himself from laughing at Tyler. And Hayden didn't try to hide his laughter. I was on a role and I wasnt ready to step down just yet. Then I realised that the whole restaurant had gone silent. Except the sound of a baby crying and a coffee machine.
"Well?" I asked referring for them to order.
"Can I have the special" Connor stepped in.
"Make that 2"
I jotted it down and stared at Tyler waiting for his answer.
"He'll also have the special" Connor spoke.
I glanced at Tyler stunned face one last time before turning around and walking back to the cash register.
As soon as I left, I heard the others laughing at Tyler.
"Amateurs" I muttered under my breath.
I placed the order on the table and looked up. That was when I realised Alice's existence. She looked stunned and lost for words.
"What was that?" Alice asked looking super happy.
"Bad luck" I muttered blaming it on the only thing that I could think of.
"That was so cool. Did you see their faces oh my gosh, it was hilarious. The video is going to go viral" Alice blurted out.
Concern started to fill me "What video?"
Alice took out her phone and showed me a video "This video"
The video was the scene that took place just before. And the camera was aimed were you could directly see my face.
"Please take it down" I pleaded. You know when you do something stupid and it gets recorded? Then when you apply for a job the boss declines you becuase of that one little mistake. That's what I was afraid off.. and the people at school seeing it.
"No" Alice replied bluntly.
As I recalled the memory I couldn't help but feel guilty. And now everyone's going to see it. Just great.
"Please" I pleaded again.
"C'mon live a little" Alice said.
What would everyone think of me? And my parents, if they saw this video they would possibly kill me. Especially my dad.
"Don't worry everyone will know that was a one off thing. Everyone knows your a good girl. Plus it wasn't that bad, you just told him the right thing." Alice voiced my thoughts "-And probably hurt his ego" Alice mumbled.
"Can this day get any worse?" I asked to no one in particular.
"And my mom wants to see you" Alice added smiling sheepishly.
Alice's mom is my boss. She's a nice women. But really scary when she's angry.
"Seriously?" I groaned.
Can my life get any worse?
