Chapter 17: Fudge cakes
"You satisfied yet?" Lara asked in a bored tone making me nod my head in a childish matter.
I had dragged my friends to boost to get a smoothie, which Lara had dissaproved at first but that was the only way to drag me through the shops. I chucked my smoothie in the bin and grabbed my handbag swinging it over my shoulder.
"Finally" Lara over exaggerated. We made our way to a fancy shop were elegant dresses sat.
I skimmed over the dresses but majority of them didn't quite fit my style so I waiting beside the fitting room waiting for the others.
Charlotte came out in a black, knee length dress that has a lace pattern at the top. "Is it too short?" She asked her head cocked to the side.
I smiled at her. "It fits perfectly"
Her eyes scanned over what I was wearing and her eyes furrowed in confusion. "Why aren't you wearing anything?"
At first I was confused as to what she had asked. Like I'm stark naked. So I quickly scanned over what I was wearing. Well thats a sigh in relief. I'm wearing the same clothes as before. Which is normal. As I don't ever remember getting undressed. I shook my head. "I'm thinking of wearing a skirt and a top instead of a dress"
Charlotte nodded and turned around when the curtains next to her opened and out came Lara.
She was wearing a white short dress that was tight from the top and ended in loose waves at the bottom. "Don't you think it's a bit short?" I asked. It ended just below her arse.
Lara wasn't offended by my comment and instead she stood with a hand in her hip obviously not ashamed of showing that much cleverage. "Nope. Keeps the boys wanting more" with that, she swiftly turns around and walked back into the room closing the curtain.
Charlotte rolled her eyes at her and looked at herself trying to figure out if she should buy it. "So what do you think? Should I wear it to the party?"
I nodded. The dress really does suit her. "Buy it. It looks great on you" Charlotte nodded at my comment and went back into the fitting room.
"I still don't get why we're buying it now. The party's in like two or three weeks away" I commented.
Lara was the one to respond to my question. "Because, like I said before it's called being organised, and just in case all of the nice clothes are sold out and we're left with disgusting jeans and a green top or something" She said rather disgusted. I instantly looked down at my clothes. I was wearing jeans with a green top. I know that Lara wasn't pointing the comment to me. It's pretty obvious that she didn't know that I was wearing jeans and a green top. But seriously. Nothings wrong with what I'm wearing now. Right?
I shook the thought out of my head and crossed my arms over my chest. Mainly to hide it. Charlotte came out and soon did Lara. They bought the clothes and we walked out of the store together. "Lets go to coles" I suggested.
Lara looked disgusted at me. "You're not planning on buying cereal boxes and using the cardboard to make a dress right?".
Charlotte was smiling amused at this situation and at Lara's reaction.
"Yeah..."
Lara's mouth dropped. "You can't be serious"
I put one hand on my hip and pretended to be hurt. "Excuse me. I will look absoloutly gorgeous. I'll be the center of attention". I couldn't hold the act up any longer, so my face instantly dropped and I started laughing at Lara's expression, Charlotte soon joining in.
"Why the hell would I do that? We ran out of froot loops at home, and as you know me, I need my froot loops"
"You still need to but your outfit" Lara pointed out.
Charlotte shrugged. "We have heaps of time so we can look for her outfit after"
I nodded agreeing with Charlotte. Lara looked at both of us before finally agreeing.
We made our way to coles going straight to the cereal section.
"I'll be right back, gotta buy some lady items" Lara smiles cheekily before walking away to get some 'lady items'. I swear she's so childish sometimes. I remember when I was younger and I always couldn't say tampon or words like that out loud because it was too embarrassing. But I soon got used to it and it wasn't so hilarious anymore.
I made eye contact with Charlotte and she sighed. Thinking exactly what I was thinking. "I know. I know. I'll go follow her" She turned around and started walking the way that Lara had walked. "Who knows what trouble she'll get herself into" She mumbled.
I turned back around and started scanning over the cereal boxes trying to find froot loops. My eyes immediately lit up when I found them and I grabbed one box.
"I need to buy some condoms". Someone says in the distant catching my attention.
"Well buy them later, I've got better things to do"
"Like buying coco pops"
My curiosity got the best of me so I turned around to find Tyler and Hayden. I would've thought that it would've been Hayden buying the coco pops but it's suprisingly Tyler.
Tyler looked around mostly behind him to see if anyone was looking, thankfully he didn't see me.
"Fuck off. It was the only way to get me off babysitting. Plus they're for Jason" he replied annoyed. I cringed at his choice of words. Swearing is definitely a no go.
Hayden put his hands up in defeat. "Fine. Take all the time you need, I saw some girls on the way in". He then turned around and walked the opposite direction.
Tyler rolled his eyes at Hayden and started walking in my direction still not noticing me.
Fudge cakes.
There's still time to walk away. I have my froot loops so I can go. I put my head down and started walking away. Two feet later a voice was heard and I scrunched my face up in annoyance.
"Long time no see Smith" Tyler's annoying voice rang through the aisle. I squeezed my eyes shut hoping that he'd go away but he still remained there. Shame I didn't bring my hoodie.
I turned around mastering a fake smile. "Tyler, great seeing you here"
"Heard you were looking for some coco pops so here" I grabbed a box of coco pops next to me and gave it to Tyler. A smirk creeping up on my face.
Tyler's cheeks reddened in embarrassment. "There not for me" he grumbled out.
I smiled unconvinced by his answer. "Sure"
Tyler huffed. "Whatever. And what do we have here. Froot loops" he smirked looking at what I was holding.
Should I tell the truth or just lie? I hope that he can't see right through me.
"There for my sister" I defensively spoke.
He smiled, also unconvinced by my answer. "Sure"
