Brooklynn's POV:
I woke up to the feeling of emptiness and the smell of his cologne on my sheets. Although nothing went on last night, I couldn't help but feel dirty and used... especially since he left. I got up and slowly walked to the bathroom to hop in the shower. I reached in and slowly turned the knob as I felt the steam cling to my skin. I took off my clothes as I sleepily rubbed my droopy eyes. I let out a large yawn and stepped into the shower, one foot at a time. I don't understand what I could've done to make him leave. Did he leave in the middle of the night, or did I just miss him as he headed out the door? He probably left right after I fell asleep... like my parents used to do when I was little. He was just going to make me feel safe enough to fall asleep and then leave to climb into his own bed. That's fine with me I guess... well it would be except he kissed me right before bed. Even though I am 17 years old, that is only the second time I've ever been kissed on the lips. He probably does that to all of the girls he sleeps with. When I told him no sex, he probably thought "then I ain't staying!" I just... I thought he was different from the other guys.
As I rinsed the conditioner out of my hair, I turned the knob in the shower to cut it off. I stepped onto a fluffy cream rug and threw on my robe with my matching slippers. I then walked into my room and put on some casual clothes. I stuck one leg and then the other into my old high-waisted shorts paired with a grey t shirt and my old converse. I put some mouse into my hair, added some hair spray, and headed back into the bathroom to brush my teeth before heading downstairs. I walked out my door closing it behind me and rushed down the hall. I hopped down the stairs to find My Aunt Justine sitting on the couch across from Luke, Liam, and Jase. "How nice of you to join us Brooklynn." she said in a slightly less uplifting than normal tone. "Why don't you join us?" she said motioning me to take a seat beside her. "You all know my niece, Brooklynn... right boys?" They all waved and let a slight smile sweep their face. "Yes." they all mumbled in unison. "Great. Now Brooklynn what do you know about what happened last night?" I cut my eyes to Luke who was staring at the floor and then to Jase who had a dark black eye. I then looked at Liam who gave me a look that meant "lie" . His eyes said it all. I looked at Aunt Justine "No, I'm afraid I do not know what happened." Luke's head quickly shot up. "Well darling, Jase here tells me that Luke took you to an inappropriate party and he tried to take you home. When Jase tried to take you home, Liam wouldn't let him and he hurt Jase. If this is true, there could be serious consequences for Liam and Luke." I looked at Jase who had an upset look on his face. "No, this is not true. I wasn't at a party, I was in my room reading. In fact Liam brought me a snack at about 10... so I highly doubt he was a party either." My Aunt Justine looked at me in shock. "Well, I'm sorry I didn't give you to boys a chance to speak Liam and Luke. As for you Jase, well... I'll have to get back to you later. I have things to do. I just cannot believe you would lie to me that way." Jase gave me an ill look as we all got up to exit the room. He grabbed me by the arm once Aunt Justine left "Why did you lie?" he said between clenched teeth. I soon felt Liam and Luke's presence behind me. "Same reason you did, to save my butt. Plus, you were probably too drunk to remember anyways." I pulled my arm away and walked outside the living room with Liam and Luke still following me closely.
"Brooklynn, I'd like to apologize for last night." said Luke with a depressed look on his face. "I shouldn't have taken you there. It was too dangerous for a girl like you to go to." I smiled, "It's okay. Don't beat yourself up about it." He looked up and smiled. "I know, but still.. I shouldn't have been so stupid..." He looked down again. "Yeah, you really shouldn't have. But oh well, you can't do anything about it now." Said Liam punching Luke in the arm. Liam then grabbed my hand and pulled me to the long corridor heading towards the kitchen in the back of the house. "Where are you taking me Liam?" he smiled. "You'll see!" he laughed. We walked all the way from the house down to the employee boat dock. By then I kind of had an idea of what was going to happen. The employee boat dock is filled with fishing boats, with an occasional speedboat hidden in there. He pulled me to the end of the dock where I saw a gorgeous sail boat. "Here we are." He said as he helped me climb into the delicate boat. "It's beautiful Liam." He smiled. "Thanks, she's my pride and joy. I just got her a couple months ago... I've spent all Spring fixing her up." He started to get the boat ready to sail. "I can tell. You've really done a great job."
The boat took sail and I quickly grabbed onto a handle next to my seat. The waves were a bit...um...choppy. I was just praying I wouldn't get sea sick. "You okay?" He looked at me with a dazzling smile on his face. "Yeah...I'm just dandy." I smiled back. The salt water sprayed my face as the boat regained speed. The sun warmed my skin, and the salt water quickly cooled it back down again.I'm not really a big fan of the ocean, or the beach; but, when it came to Liam, i'd be fine going anywhere as long as I was with him. "Hey Brookie!" He called. I quickly glanced up to see a smirk on his face. "Watch this." He climbed up onto the front of the boat and got into the world famous 'King of the world' Titanic pose. He screamed wildly like the free spirit he is. He looked beautiful, like he didn't have a care in the world. "Here, you try it." he said pulling me to my feet and leading me to the front of the boat. "Just let it all out." he whispered into my ear. I smiled at him. "Alright on three. Ready? One, two... three!" And in that moment we both let it all go and screamed as loud as we could. I felt so free, like I was flying almost. "I must say, you are absolutely stunning Brooklynn." said Liam quietly as he pushed a strand of my hair back and kissed me violently.
Liam grabbed my hand and walked me up to Aunt Justine's house. That's when I noticed the sun setting and I remembered I had promised Aunt Justine that I would go down to the café today... great. I walked in the door with Liam at my heels to find everyone sitting at the dinner table. Late for dinner...great. Could this get any better? "I see that you're tardy Brooklynn. May I ask why?" I took a seat next to Harold and began scooping green beans onto my plate. "I was invited to see Liam's boat." I said quietly. I mean, I couldn't lie to the lady. "Oh so not only were you late to dinner, you completely disregarded our plans today with out any notice. Did you think your plans were better, Brooklynn?" I slowly nibbled on a piece of roll. "No ma'am, I just forgot." She smiled a sweet understanding smile. "Alright darling, let's just not let it happen again, okay?" I smiled a small smile back. "Alright." The rest of dinner was filled with conversations about the café and Harold's truck and how he waxed it. In other words, it was nothing that I cared about. All I could think about was Liam. His dirty blonde hair blowing in the wind, the sun reflecting off his tan skin, and his gorgeous baby blue eyes. I finished my dinner and darted my eyes to the hall. There was Liam. " Follow me" he mouthed perfectly. "Uhm, may I be excused Aunt Justine?" I said rather politely. "Of course dear. Lisa here will take your dishes. Are you going to bed?" My eyes glanced to the clock to see that it was only 8:15. I was definitely not going to bed. "Yeah, I'm feeling pretty tired. I'll see you bright and early." I said giving her a hug and starting towards the hallway. "Goodnight darling!" she called after me.
