His laugh was said to echo around the whole galaxy, making people jump. But that's not what he wanted, he just wanted to make people laugh. He wanted to hear a joyous laugh once again and he wanted to see someone's face split into a grin. That's what he promised he would do. He would make them happy, no matter what the cost. It hurt to see them heartbroken, as their smile slowly drops. It pained him to tell them that it would be alright, when in reality it just means he gets to see another person destroy themselves. This time he wants to do something. He wants to make sure that they are really okay and make sure that they don't hurt. That is what he wants, that is what he always wanted. To help others, to save them. He would have given anything for that. So he decided that he would give it. Have a permanent smile on his face, a fake laugh ready. He'd have jokes and puns on speed dial just in case someone needed them. He'd protect his friends from bullies and from harsh insults. It didn't matter what happened to him, as long as his friends were okay then that was all that mattered.
From then on, no harm would come to his friends while he was human, from then on, he would be known as Ethan Payne.
