The ANZAC Highway Hitchhiker

If you live in Adelaide, Australia like myself you are probably very familiar with ANZAC Highway. This road is a very busy road that goes from the city, to Glenelg beach.

Now, the story of the ANZAC Highway Hitchhiker is not a very popular one but is a creepy one. No one knows quite how it came to be as one day this apparition just appeared on the side of the road.

One day two friends where travelling along ANZAC Highway on their way to Glenelg when there she was, a young woman standing on the side of the road covered in blood desperately shouting for help. She looks as though she has been in a car accident but there is no wreck nearby.

The friends pull over to help her and she sounds very grateful that they stopped for her. They offer to take her to the nearest hospital and so she gets in the backseat of their car. When one of the friends asks this woman where she lives, she doesn't answer. They turn around and she is gone, completely vanished.

Some say she is stuck, unable to move on while others think she doesn't actually know she is dead. Either way, to me this story is very creepy since I've been on that road so many times before. In a way I want to see her and in a way I don't but who am I to say she's even real.
