Eventually Emily stopped crying, and she took a deep breath.
"Okay, where are they taking her?" She asked Hotch, who let go of her.
"I can't tell you that," he replied. She gave him a look and he continued,
"I can't tell you, because I don't even know. When the orphanage called all they said was to bring Juliet back immediately or they were going to press charges for holding her. They didn't tell me if she was going back to the orphanage or going straight to a new family."
"But what about her clothes and stuff? Am I supposed to just keep it or throw it out?" Prentiss asked.
"They said you can pack her a bag with her clothes and that they would have it delivered to her."
"Okay." Emily walked back up to her apartment to start getting a bag ready for Juliet. Penelope and JJ joined her, and Hotch returned to the BAU to finish up some paper work for Juliet's release. When they reached the apartment, JJ tried to talk to Emily about what happened.
"Em, do you want to talk about it?" "No. I just want to get Juliet back," is all Emily could say before walking into what was Juliet's room and shutting the door behind her. Penelope and JJ decided to stay and help Emily get through this hard time. They started to finish cleaning up the kitchen. Meanwhile in Juliet's room, once Emily shut the door, she began to cry. She couldn't stop the tears from falling, and she couldn't imagine all the pain Juliet must've been feeling. Emily fell to the ground and began sobbing. Penelope and JJ could hear her from the kitchen, so they went to comfort their friend. When they opened the door, they found Emily on her knees with her hands on her face and tears streaming down her cheeks. Neither of them have even seen Emily like this before and they didn't know what to do. JJ bent down beside Preniss and pulled her up a little and put her arms around her friend. Penelope did the same thing, but on the other side of Emily. Prentiss let herself cry into her friends and she didn't even care. She felt so hopeless in that moment. Once Emily calmed down, JJ said,
"Why don't we help you pack the bag." Emily nodded as she wiped away a tear. She excused herself to the bathroom to freshen up, and Garcia and JJ began gathering Juliet's clothes. When Emily returned they had most of her clothes in a bag, and all they had left were her books, scrap book, and some other little items. Emily tried so hard not to cry again, as she helped them finish packing the bag.
"You guys don't need to stay, I'll be fine," Prentiss said.
"No, we're staying and you can't make us leave," Garcia stated and JJ agreed. "Do you think it would be okay if I wrote a note to Juliet and stuck it in her bag?" Emily asked.
"Yeah of course, I'm sure they wouldn't mind," JJ replied. Penelope looked at the clock, it read 1:45.
"Why don't JJ and I start making lunch and when you're ready we can bring the bag to the BAU." Emily gave her a weak smile and nodded her head. Once JJ and Garcia left, Emily immediately began writing the note.

She wrote: Juliet, words can't express what I want to say to you. If I could, I would just pick you up and hold you in my arms, hoping it would be enough to take away all the pain. I want you to know, that this is not your fault. You know my number, so if at any point you want to call me, I'll always answer. It doesn't matter if it's in the middle of the night, if you need to talk, I'll be here for you. You're like the daughter I never had, so there is no way they can keep us apart for long. Us being away from each other is temporary and I will get you back. I promise you, I will fix this. Just stay strong my sweet child.
-Emily

Emily cried as she wrote the note. Once she finished, she tucked it in Juliet's bag and walked out of the room.

Juliet
Meanwhile, in the car Juliet wouldn't stop screaming. She kept kicking the seat in front of her and refused to stop. Finally, the car pulled up at a familiar building, the BAU. Juliet calmed down once she noticed the building she was at. Both men got out of the car and one carried Juliet into the BAU. Once they were in the elevator, Juliet noticed that the man pushed the 6th floor button. That was where Emily and her team worked. The man put Juliet down, but kept a hold of her hand so she wouldn't run away. When the elevator doors opened, Juliet searched for someone on Emily's team. The men led her to the conference room, and on her way she spotted Reid and Morgan. She caught the man off guard and pulled away. Juliet ran as fast as she could to where Reid and Morgan were and she clung on to Reid really tight. The men turned around and started running after Juliet.
"Hey Juliet, what's going on? Where's Emily?" Juliet was crying really hard so Reid picked her up.
"What's wrong?" Morgan asked. The men were getting closer.
"They took me away from Emily and said I was going back into the foster care system," Juliet stammered as she pointed to the men running toward them.
"Okay calm down. We're going to figure this out," Morgan said as the men approached him. Hotch heard Juliet's cries from in his office and poked his head out to see the girl clinging to Reid and crying.
"Tom, Stephen, let her be. The orphanage called and they are on their way to pick her up. You guys can go now. Thank you for your help, but I believe Morgan and Reid can take it from here," Hotch hollered from his office. The two guys backed up and left the BAU. Juliet sighed but wouldn't let go of Reid.
"Juliet it's going to be okay," Reid said trying to comfort her.
"No it's not. I just want to stay with Emily," she pleaded. Morgan looked up at Hotch, who urged him to go into his office. Morgan got the signal and went up to Hotch's office.
"Hotch what's going on?" Morgan asked when he entered his bosses' office. Hotch shut the door and had the agent take a seat.
"The orphanage called demanding that we give Juliet back so we don't damage her any more than we have. Apparently, there was a complaint from an anonymous source saying Emily was an unfit person to care for a child."
"Seriously, they are taking the word of an anonymous person. Emily had been nothing but an amazing mom for the girl. It would be damaging to remove Juliet from Emily's care," Morgan said sounding pissed off.
"I completely agree with you, but we can fight the system," Hotch said. "Were you there when they took Juliet?" Derek wondered aloud. In response his boss nodded his head. "How did she take it?" Hotch knew he was referring to Emily.
"I've never seen her act the way she did today. When the guys were taking Juliet, I had to hold her back. Prentiss was a mess, and I wish she just listened to us and adopted Juliet, because now, who knows what will happen to her." Morgan just shook his head.
"So what do we do now?"
"We can't do anything." Hotch stated looking up.
