Lying to Mom and Dad

Sometimes, it's necessary to lie to mom and dad.

Like, when Maya asked for me to go to a concert with her, and stay over her friend's place in the city afterwards.

That's when it's necessary to lie to mom and dad.

But, it was so, so, so worth it.

The people on stage were so... Loud, and filled with energy, and so real, and so amazing.

And everybody was moving together, like a huge cluster of music.

Between songs, Maya leaned over and asked,

"How do you like your first concert?"

I was so excited and happy, tears started to stream down my face.

And then she hugged me.

I think, maybe, that she could tell...
