I'm so dumb sometimes...
I was talking to Maya about me getting into my college summer program, and I was making plans, saying
"You should come visit me and stay in my dorm room."
But she told me,
"But Riley, I ship out on June 6th."
I was like, "Ship out? Ship out to where?"
She said, "To basic training! What did you think I was doing all that R.O.T.C stuff for?"
I guess she's been wanting to join the army since she was about twelve.
And I guess she's actually going to go for it.
So I was like, "After graduation, I'm just... Never going to see you again?"
She said,
"Let's just have fun while we can."
