They tell you to "stick with the group" on field trips, Auggie.
There's a reason for that.
Maya and I snuck off on the side paths at Mt. Emma Falls, and got a bit lost.
...Alright, maybe more than a little.
We were lost for, like, hours.
Right before the bus left, we found a trail.
We came rushing back, drenched and covered in mud, shouting out to the bus.
The school called home.
Mom and dad said, "You didn't get into trouble like this before you met that Maya girl,"
But, I don't think they know about us.
The kids at school, though... I'm really afraid that's another story entirely.
Stick with the group, Auggie, stick with the group.
