Having Hope

Kirito's POV

"Kirito please join our guild!" A tall boy in purple begged me.

"I know you're solo and all, but having you in our team would be a big help!" The boy in yellow explained to me. Basically what happened is that I saved these guys from a tight situation, and now they want me in their guild, The Moonlit BlackCats. These guys are around level 20 but I've already reached the 40's.

"I appreciate the offers and all. I guess I'll join." I told them. They all cheered. They are happy so I guess it's okay.

"My name is Keita!" The one in brown greeted me as we shook hands.

"This is Sachi! She is the damage dealer so she is up front quite a lot to attack!" Keita continued as he patted the one with blue hair on the head.

"How many times do I have to say that I'm scared of going up front!" Sachi sighed.

"All you gotta do is hide behind the shield! And I thought you were the best at hiding!" The boy in yellow laughed. Everyone laughed at the joke.

"That over there is Ducker, he is the theif, he gets more drops and items which is useful!" Tetsuo explained as the one in yellow stood and greeted me with a big cheer.

"Yup that's me!" Ducker had a huge smile on his face, it made me laugh a little.

"That over there is Sasamaru! He uses a spear!" Keita explained as Sasamaru told me "Hey there, nice to meet you Kirito!"

"Nice to meet you too Sasamaru" I greeted him with a smile.

"And finally that over there is Tetsuo! He's a hard hitter so he is upfront!" Keita explained to me.

"Hey there!" Tetsuo waved at me. He seemed to be cool.

"It's nice to meet you all. I'm Kirito!"

"You're a Beater..." Keita's eyes were wide open as his jaw drops.

"I'm sorry Keita." I told him. Keita with his eyes wide open, grabbed his sword and stabbed himself.

11th April 00:36 2023

"No!" I screamed as I jumped out of bed. I looked around. Luckily I live alone. "Just a dream huh.." I sighed as I rested my head against my pillow. "Damn it." I sighed as I knew plain well that I can't sleep easily. I got up, equipped my sword and armour and headed out.

As I walked towards  the higher level monster spawns, I saw a familiar face I thought I'd hardly ever see. Klein.. Stella.. Asuna.. and Agil...

Stella's POV

"C'mon we got em! We're so close!" I yelled as I hit the demon wolf's back with my sword.

"Switch Stella!" Asuna yelled. Following orders, I switched out leaving Asuna to do the dirty work. She rapidly stabbed the demon nonstop. Her speed and dexterity is off the charts.

"I got this guys!" Klein yelled as he charged a sword skill and slashed the wolf. The wolf quickly recovered its balance and ran at full speed at me.

"Oh crap!" I cried as I quickly start to run.

"Hyaa!" Agil yelled as he attacked the wolf.

I quickly sigh before running to Agil to thank him.

"Oh! Kirito!" Klein cheered. Klein walked up to Kirito, leaving us to take care of all the other wolves.

Klein's POV

"Hey Kirito! How long has it been? Wait.. What's with that icon?" I asked Kirito as he looks down. "Did you join a guild?" I asked him. He tried to avoid eye contact.

"Yeah." He replied. "Bye Klein." He said as he drew his sword, prepared to face any enemy that comes his way.

"What's up with him?" I asked myself rhetorically. I watch as Kirito head down with the monstrously higher leveled monsters.

"K-Kirito! Don't risk it!" I yelled out to him. He continued to ignore me. He seemed to be bothered by something.

I woke up and stretched my body. As I looked out the window, the sun rose. It was a beautiful sight. But no matter how beautiful this world is. I would never hope to live in this world forever. I want to go back to my world. The real world. Not this virtual crisis. Someday. We'll all be able to see the real world again. We just gotta have hope.
