Chapter 3 - the begining of our journey

Kay's p.o.v
I woke up.
Completely forgetting about what I was thinking about yesterday. I was super excited. I got ready as quick as possible. We were supposed to meet up at 12:00 p.m and it was 10:59, I still had an hour.
I grabbed q bag from my closet and put the most valuable things in it.
Like my laptop, my phone, my best gear my best weapons and so on.
When I was done packing I stretched a bit.
I had to be prepared for anything.
These octolings are not friendly.
If I was ever hurt from anything, ever. It would be the end of me.
"Today's the day!" I say over and over. "Today's the day, today's the day, today's the day!"
Sadly it felt like FOREVER to wait for 12 aclock.
I did everything to speed it up.
I went on my laptop.
Then walked around my house.
Then just sat and thought about some stuff.
When it was finally 11:49 I grabbed my bag excitingly.
Even if this will be a dangerous mission.
I was still excited.
With Matt, Dean, Cloud and Dia there was no way we would lose!
We will get that great zapfish back!
I raced out of my house.
Running down the road, excitement on my face.
It was a long run but I didn't care how tired I was.
When I got to the plaza I was out of breath.
I panted holding my knees to keep me standing.
Then I looked at the others.
"Are you ok?" Dean asked putting his hand on my shoulder.
"Y-yeah... Just I ran a lot" I laughed awkwardly.
Marie sighed "oh boy oh boy..."
Callie cheered "yay you're all here! Now you can go~!"
"Yay!" Cloud cheered
"I'm a little nervous..." Dia muttered. "But excited!"
"Me too" I said back "alright where do we go to?"
"Follow us.." Callie said. We followed her and Marie into a tunnel like place.
I've seen it before. I've just never been in it.
Before I knew it, we were all in Octovalley. The old land for the octarians
"Wow..." We all gasped at our surroundings.
The place was huge! For some reason.
An old squid appeared with a rage beard and shaky legs.
"Who's that?" Matt asked tilting his head.
"That is Captain cuttlefish!" Callie said a bit nervously
"He will be helping you get the great zapfish back" Marie said
"Yep I will!" He said. "Before you go out, I should explain a few things.... Marie and Callie you two go back.. You don't have to stay" captain cuttlefish's voice was scraggy too.
Callie and Marie did as they were told and left.
We had a what seemed to feel like, a five hour lecture.
When it was finally over. Me and Dia opened a kettle tunnel to the first zapfish we have to get.
"Alright let's do this!" I yelled jumping in first.
The rest of them followed.
When we got there, there was some purplish pink ink.
Matt and cloud sprayed the ink with the ink we had, which was yellow.
"This seems pretty easy" I said nudging Dean slightly
"It's gonna get harder as we go on.. Isn't it?"
"I guess so yeah.. But I want it to be hard now! I wanna have a close to death experience!"
"Don't jinx anything Kay"
"I won't, don't worry~"
"We are safe to walk around now.." Cloud said to us.
Me and Dean nodded and walked forwards.
We were stealthy.
Most of us plan to be the entire time.
The journey seemed boring to be honest.
We mostly walked around and when we saw octolings, it was either Dia or Cloud who shot them down.
I hardly did anything.
It was a bummer.
But, I did get to get the zapfish out of some protected bubble surrounded in the ink of the octolings. I shot it down and got the zapfish.
Even if it was boring. It was awesome.
We quickly went to another kennel where surprisingly there were more octolings so I actually got to shoot them down.
"Kay look out!" Matt yelled at me during the middle of the course.
I turned around and saw an octoling starting to shoot at me
"T-thank you Matt!" I yelled back before splatting the octoling down.
"No problem" he laughed when I walked back to him
"Cmon you two!" Dean yelled at us. We were far behind from the others.
Me and Matt picked up the pace.
Cloud looked around and cursed "we gotta find a key somewhere" she pointed at a locked place, which was probably where we needed to go
"Where would there be one?" Dia asked looking around
"Let's look around" Matt suggested
"Well duh!" I laughed
"We should have a conversation in the middle of this mission!" Dia groaned
We all agreed to then look around. Eventually we did find the key. After Cloud almost died trying to take down an easy to kill enemy. We unlocked the seal and got to the end. This time it was Dia who gotten the zapfish.
I had assumed that we were taking turns getting it by how long ago we joined this little group of ours.
I don't really know.
Surprisingly by the time we got that zapfish it was really late.
Probably because we started pretty late.
"Alright" Dia said proud of their adventures. "We should set up tents"
"We are able to head to our homes at this time you know..." Cloud spoke up "we aren't far from the cave to here from inkopolis..."
"I don't care!" She groaned again "sleeping in tents is so much more fun!"
"If you say so" Cloud laughed slightly
Dean looked at me "you did great there by the way.."
"Wha-?"
"Sorry I just wanted a conversation starter" he laughed
"O-oh!" I laughed too "its fine!" I smiled at him. Not showing my teeth
"So, how's it like so far?" Dean asked
"Exciting! But... I know soon this is gonna be.... serious"
"Well until then feel excited I guess"
I laughed "yeah"
He looke dover at the others setting up tents so I did too.
Dia was complaining that Matt wasn't doing something right. So then Matt laughed and
Tried again, as if it wasn't a concern
I laughed slightly "man, I chose some weird inklings to be on my team"
"Heh, ya sure did!" He snarked
"Was that supposed to be sarcastic?"
"Maybe..."
"Haha, very funny"
He patted me on the head
"What?"
"Good job.... setting up this team... being you.... just.... good job"
I smiled "thanks?"
He laughed slightly and walked over to the others who finally finished setting up.
"That kid sure is strange" I said to myself walking over too.
"Hey Kay! Let's hang out sometime during a break or something" Cloud cheered
"So we can get to know each other better!"
"That's a bit sudden but sure!" I smiled at her.
I laid on the ground. It was pretty cold and hard. It felt like concrete. I didn't care much. I looked up at the sky, it was dark and filled with stars. More stars than I've ever seen!
"Guys did you see the sky tonight?" I asked.
Some of them looked up. Seeing the stars too.
I sighed. Even if the floor was cold and uncomfortable.
I felt warm, comfy and safe.

I knew throughout this adventure I'd be

Warm

And comfy, with all my friends

But safe. . .

???'s p.o.v
"She's strange" I mutter. I watched her chatting with those other inklings. Watch her talk about the sky. It is... strange.
She could be useful.
She could tell us information about the world above our underground hell we live in.
I sighed walking and walking, back to my little hut somewhere.
It was small, and I shared it with 3 others.
My brothers and sister.
I hate their guts.
But I had to tell them about this, about the inkling.
"So" my sister spoke up looking at me "did you find anything about those inklings who keeps killing us octarians?"
"Yep!" I nodded and shared what I knew about the inkling and her friends.
Or what I could estimate.
My sister laughed "if we can bring one of the head inklings friends to Octavio and maybe force her to ask us questions... maybe we can learn more-"
"It's obvious they want their zapfish back..." my oldest brother interrupted my sister.
"I'm not talking about that!" My sister spat "I'm talking about how we will be able to get back up to the surface! How to make an easier plan! Octavio would be proud of us!"
"Now I see. . . . "
I blinked not knowing what to say, what to do or what I should pay attention too.
I was just thinking what would happen to whoever we capture. If we capture one of them
"Ava!" My sister spat at me
"A-ah! Yes!" I replied
"Your going to have to spy a bit more on those inklings. Maybe even met them"
"I could be killed!" I protested
"Octavio will be proud you risked your life to help us!"
"Why do you care how Octavio will be proud of us for?"
"It's just... I want to be an important octarian family! Now that mom and dad are gone. I'm in charge and that's what I want!!!"
"Ok ok" I spat "ill continue to spy on them"
My younger brother walked up to me "which one will we be capturing?"
"How am I supposed to know???"
"Well now Ava...." my sister said softly
"You have a mission now too......"
