A/N: sorry I haven't been updating this lately. Haven't gotten a lot of ideas and I've been busy with school work. Also just gonna say this so this doesn't get confusing to anyone who's new to reading this series. This takes place in the original Splatoon background and stuff... what I'm saying is nothing in Splatoon 2 is going to be in this book unless it's necessary. Anyways time for another chapter~
Kay's p.o.v
"Hey, watch out!" Dia yelled at me for afar.
I turn around to see some octarians behind me. I jumped in surprise before splatting them.
We've caught 4 zapfish so far while Dean has been watching Ava. From what Cloud told us, we should be fighting the boss in no time. The only problem with that is, we will have to set up another camp.
"We are close, I see the zapfish up ahead" Matt said as a teleported appeared.
"That's good, we should probably head there now" Dia responded as one by one we entered the device.
It was kind of like a rocket, when we entered we get shot out into the next part of this place.
I was the last one to enter, when I got shot out I slipped hitting the floor and fell face first into the ground.
"You okay?" Dia asked
"Yup, it happens" I respond getting myself back up.
"Alright..." she looks up "the zapfish is right there!"
I look up also and I see the bubbled surrounded by light with an even brighter light inside. That's the zapfish!
"I see some octarians heading this way." Matt says looking both ways
"Alright um- you and Cloud fight them off, me and Kay will get the zapfish" Dia says grabbing my hand and running off
To get the zapfish. "Oh okay" I say jokingly almost while running with her.
I could hear Cloud and Matt fighting off octarians as we ran.
"Alright Kay, when I say go, shoot at the bubble!" Dia says so me as we kept running
"Alright" I nod.
She starts to count down. I keep a good grip on my gun.
"Go!" She shouts.
We both stop running and shoot at the bubble. Causing it to burst after 5 seconds.
Dia ran and grabbed the zapfish as another one of those teleport things appeared
"we got it! Let's go!"
I nodded but before we we went in me and Dia heard a scream.
It was cloud who had screamed. Matt had to grab her by the arm while splatting an octarian carrying her to us
I was wondering why cloud screamed until I realized
Cloud was hurt
A glob of the octarians ink was stuck to her leg seeping into an already pretty big existing scar.
"Oh gosh, Cloud are you alright?" I say as we start to go through the device.
I couldn't hear her answer since before she said anything I was back at camp.
"Alright! Another day, another zapfish as someone probably said" Dia said happily
"Yeah, someone did say it. That person is you" I laugh slightly.
I was still worried about Cloud.
That was the first time someone's actually be that injured on this mission. Sure other people are probably gonna get hurt and that'll seem like nothing but, this is the first time.
Cloud and Matt came back.
"By the way I said I was fine, it just burns. Washing it out with our own ink will be enough to stop the burning" Cloud said to me
"Well atleast your okay.. what about the scar though, need a bandage?" I tilt my head
"I guess, okay" she nods
I head to the first aid kit that for some reason we had and gave her bandages "here"
"Thanks" she had that bright smile she always had again.
I smile too but then it faded when I looked around
"Guys?"
"Yeah?" Dia and Matt said as Cloud took care of the injury.
"Where's Ava and Dean?"
We searched around for them for a while but no sign of them.
"Well shoot" Matt said giving up. "Guess they're gone"
My heart kinda hurt from the thought. But then it pounded excited again
"Who's gone?" Dean said with Ava behind her.
"YOU YA MORON!" Dia yelled at him
"Oh right I forgot to tell you. I took that thing off Ava for a while so she can walk around but I was with her the whole time" he said patting Ava on the head "she's trustworthy once you get to know her"
"Hmph.. she has it back on right?"
"Yup"
"Good"
Ava kinda sighed "I know if I try to do anything bad I'll get splat so don't even be worried about me"
"Still, your an octoling!" Dia snapped
"It's been a week! Why haven't you trust me yet?! I haven't done anything wrong this whole time"
"Cause you had that device on you!"
"Alright guys stop fighting!" I say getting in between them both.
Dia crosses her arms "fine fine, alright so... what now?"
"We keep going on missions! After all there's only one more zapfish left until we got the boss to fight.
"Ah right! Cloud!" She calls for her
"Yes?"
"You stay here this time, even if it doesn't hurt your still hurt and we don't want that scar to get any worse" Dia says, sounding like an overprotective soccer mom
"Hey, you're not the leader, Kay is isn't she?" Dean said to Dia "Kay you should decide."
"Oh! Uh-" I thought for a second "I guess just for this once you can stay here Cloud. Not just because of your injury but so Dean can go on missions to"
Cloud nodded "that seems fair, okay"
"Wait, what's the rush though?" Matt said "we've been working nonestop for a whole week and you see what troubles it's brought us into" he said pointing to cloud "we should take atleast an hour break"
"An hour break? Hmm, okay then I guess we can have a... 4 hour break actually!"
"Hey that means we can head to town! Why don't we go to the café, Kay?" Dia said smiling again
I nodded happy to see my old friends smile. She seems so serious during this mission.
"I'm gonna explore the place" Dean said
"Be careful not to run into anymore octarians or octolings" Dia says holding my hand as we walked to the tunnel to get to the town
"Octolings and octarians are the same thing aren't they?" I said to her trying to act like the smarter inkling.
"Shush you" she responded to me flicking me in the head lightly.
We got to town, everyone surrounded Dia asking her questions. I realized one of them was 'how did Kay get a spot on your team'
The 'your' part kind of put me on edge. That's why she always acts like the leader.
She's convinced it's her team. Cause everyone else sees it that way.
I head to the café and waited for her to leave the crowd as I sighed
A slight smile on my face.
I wonder what they'd think when they realize it's my team.
A/N: alright update time. I know I have a lot of stories I didn't even start but this one I know I'm gonna start. It's a short story about one of my persona's/oc's and her story. In my opinion it's pretty interesting but heck everyone probably thinks there own oc's story is interesting.
The story should probably be a few chapters long at best.
I'll be working on the short story for a bit, I might even wait until it's done for me to continue this one unless the story is more chapters than I think.
Maybe check the story out also I dunno ;w;
Also sorry if I'm starting to ramble I dunno what's up with that.
