"Howdy, my name is Barb!" A short, petite woman greeted happily, putting her short, wrinkly arms around Katrine's back. "I'm the caretaker of the newly-chosen! Specifically, only for the Animals of coarse."
Katrine examined the rustic hallway. She noticed a crowd of people walking behind her subtly and slowly. It was annoying to have so much attention...
"Here we are." Smiled Barb sweetly, "This is the Office room, we will get you your ID Code, room, and you will soon become officially part of the family."
Katrine nodded anxiously, "Okay..." She stuttered quietly.
Barb, rubbed her back and opened the huge brown doors. This lead into a much larger room, high ceiling with a huge brown lamp that hung far up into the building. The floors were a light tannish hardwood complimented by a tan striped wallpaper. In the middle of the room laid a huge square , red velvet carpet along with huge brown armchairs and ottoman at the west part of the room. Pictures covered the walls of animals of all sorts. Book shelves covering parts of the walls, and small tables and chairs along with it. The room was bustling with noise as Katrine and Barb made their way towards a long granite counter. Barb walked on the other side of the counter and began to fill out a piece of paper.
"What's that?" Katrine asked curiously, using the tips of her toes to gain a little extra height.
"Just some papers to show that you are officially part of our family." Barb answered, not taking her eyes off the paper. "It won't take long, I will show you too the rooms in a second sweetheart. Feel free to grab a book."
Katrine nodded, gazing around excitedly. She skipped towards the brown armchair nearest to her and propped straight down. Sighing dreamily.
It's been forever since she's seen so much space. Being holed up in that cell... She felt a strange tingle in her stomach because of this huge new responsibility.
"Kat!" Called Barb, who was know gesturing to the doors. "I'll show you too the rooms."
They started walking as Barb began to sigh for a very long time. "You're much to young to live in this type of apartment. We will have to check up on you often. Are you okay with living in a huge space alone?"
Katrine was a little nervous, "I mean, I'm sure I can manage..."
Barb fumbled with the keys and opened the door that was labeled, 459. Katrine strode into the room, instantly noticing the luxury of it.
The room was much like the office room, except smaller. There was a kitchen, along with a dining area, lounge with large paintings of farms. There was a small staircase that went a little downwards, leading to a small hallway with three doors.
Katrine hopped down the stairs delightfully and opened the closest door, admiring a large brown bed with tons of large white pillows. There was two end tables and a desk that was facing a large bay window. She closed the door and picked the one closest to it. She was greeted by an empty room.
"That's for your pets." Cut in Barb, "I mean, you ought to get one. You're part of the Animal group.
Katrine nodded and closed the door. She opened the last door and was happy to fund a decent sized bathroom.
"So." Barb sighed as they settled down onto a soft tan couch, "Are YOU positive you wanna stay all alone here?"
Katrine but her lip and smiled softly.
"Yes. I'm positive!"
