Chapter 5

7:00

I stood in the middle of the alley and waited.

"Finally, I'm going to get some answers," I thought.

I constantly paced back and forth hoping to find him.

I looked at my watch, and it said "7:06".

"Where is he?" I asked myself.

I walked to the edge of the alley and looked around.

He was nowhere to be seen.

I looked at all the people as they were leaving to go about their daily lives.

I stood there and sighed.

"I don't want to be like them when I get older. I want to have a life worth living for," I said to myself.

"Me too," said a sudden voice.

My heart jumped, and I turned quickly to look at the figure standing there.

Frank stood there looking at me, but then he walked over beside me.

He looked out at the busy streets, the same as I was.

I looked over and stared at his beautiful hazel eyes and then I asked, "Why didn't you tell me...you know,...your little secret?"

He continued to stare at the busy people and cars that went by, but he replied, "...It just didn't feel like the right time."

Then, he looked at me and smiled.

I just continued to stare at him, but not in a happy way.

"What the heck was that yesterday?"

He sat there for a moment looking at the traffic, but then looked over at me.

"My house got broken into. So, I went to try and find the people that robbed and destroyed my home so I could get my stuff back. But they were willing to put up a bit of a fight before they let go of my things."

I hesitated. I guess that's one way to put it.

"Oh. So,...you didn't do that to your house?" I asked starting to feel sort of awkward.

He shook his head. "Nah. But luckily I was able to see them before they escaped. But you should've seen his face when he saw me come in. He actually jumped out of the window instead of just going back the way he came," he said laughing.

I started laughing, too. But then, I stopped.

"It's just weird...you know,..having a rockstar living in my building."

"Well, you don't seem as shocked as I thought you would be. But I guess that's a good start to a good friendship," he said with a smile.

I put a sort of smile on my face, and we both looked back at the traffic.

He then turned to look at me again. "Well, hey, if you don't think I'm some sort of freak anymore, maybe we can go get coffee later...if you want to."

This time I smiled. And it was for real.

"Sure...that'll be cool.
