Both of our eyes shot to his. “I actually overheard you two when you were discussing your little deal. Then the other day when you two were ‘working on your song’,” Harry said, making the apostrophe gestures with his fingers, “the boys wanted to go see what you were up to, but I figured you weren’t actually working on it for the entire time, so I said they should give you as much time as you need.” Harry finished with a shrug of his shoulders. My eyes met Lou’s who looked alarmed.

“Why didn’t you say anything?” I questioned in a quiet voice. Harry shrugged and looked between me and Louis.

“I didn’t want to because Louis is my best friend and I trust his judgement. Plus, you did have the wrong idea with that Ben guy in the first place and you do need the confidence boost.” Harry explained. I nodded slightly before Harry sighed. “I’m going to leave you two to sort this out. I’ll just tell them that Lou got nervous about his song being recorded and you needed to reassure him. Sound good?” Harry proposed and we both nodded.

As Harry walked away, I sat down against the wall next to Lou. “I’m sorry.” I said quietly. Lou looked up at me, sadness in his eyes and I broke down. One tear, followed by another and another trailed down my face. I sniffled and wiped them away with my sleeve. “I just didn’t know what to do and I was scared it was going to be awkward between us and… I dunno, I’m sorry. There’s really no excuse.” I said in a shaky voice. Lou shuffled closer and pulled my into a gentle hug.

“Andy, it’s fine… You don’t need to blame yourself.” He whispered into my ear. I nodded into his shoulder before I realised it would look weird if I went back in the studio with a teary face and make up stains on Louis’ shirt. I pulled back and wiped at my eyes, getting big black smudges on my hands. I groaned and Lou chuckled. “Come on, let’s walk to the bathrooms and you can wash that off.” Lou said and I nodded in agreement.

“Wait, would I be able to go get my bag from my office? I need to do something.” I asked Lou, trying to not make it obvious that I needed to change my tampon. He just nodded and gave me a smile. We started walking side by side before Louis started talking.

“You know it’s not supposed to be awkward, right?” He asked quietly. I shrugged. I didn’t really know; I’ve never done anything like that before. Lou stopped me and turned me to face him. “It’s not supposed to be like this. If anything, it’s supposed to bring us closer…” He told me before sighing. “Look, I know that we probably went a little too far, too fast. After all, I’ve only known you for a week from today; but I do care for you.” He told me and my heart fluttered. I knew he didn’t mean it in the way I wish he meant it, but it still felt nice to know that.

“I’m sorry, I was just a bit scared that after you had gotten time to think about what happened, that you would realised that I was just a kid and that what we are doing is actually illegal and you wouldn’t want to do it anymore. It would wreck your reputation if the media found out…” I told him and he nodded.

“Actually, no. I had fun and I’m hoping you did too?” He questioned, which I replied with a nod. “Well, I know we should probably wait to be that forward again. Plus, we’d probably only see each other here at the studio and there’s really nowhere to go that’s private. So maybe we should just get to know each other a bit better before doing that again.” Lou said and I nodded. I couldn’t say I was happy about what he said. I did enjoy having that intimate time with him, I was just scared that he would find a girl that he actually wanted to date, which means we would have to cancel our deal.

“Fair enough. Hey, I did enjoy what happened between us, so don’t think otherwise… I just… We can’t do that again for at least another week…” I said awkwardly. Lou chuckled and nodded.
