“Come on, we have to move along now.” I stated and they all nodded. Niall put down the guitar and the boys stood up from the circle they were in. I find it really nice how they all sit in a circle and sing random songs with each other. I really didn’t expect this of the boys, but of course, they proved me wrong. As they all made their way over to me, Louis chucked his arm around my shoulders.

“So… Aren’t you a little young to be working here?” He asked and I gave him a shrug followed by a simple nod. He raised his eyebrow, expecting an explanation and I groaned loudly. “Feisty little one you are!” He said with a laugh.

“Sorry, I’ve been told to be nice to you boys; but don’t expect much. But, to answer your question, my dad is the CEO and founder of the company and I just happen to have a love for music, so I help out when dad needs me. Otherwise I stay home and write songs, play in the music room… Anything really.” I told him and he nodded.

“How old are you?” He asked and I looked at him questionably.

“How old do I look?” I asked and he shrugged.

“At least 18!” Harry piped in on my opposite side and I shook my head. “Younger?” He persisted and I nodded in response. “Oh Lou, she’s not legal!” Harry exclaimed and I slapped his chest. “Sorry…” He apologized with a cheeky smirk.

“17?” Louis asked and I nodded. “When’s your birthday?” He asked and I looked at him with wide eyes; fearful that he actually wanted what Harry was suggesting. “I’m kidding!” He laughed. I silently released the air that I was holding, right as Ben walked over.

“Hey goth girl, whoring around with five boys at a time? I expected more of you.” He smirked before striding purposefully away. I heard Louis mumble something under his breath, but when I turned to look at him, he gave me no clues as to what he said. I shrugged it off, leading the boys down more corridors before we ended up at the conference room once again. I opened the door for them and they all walked in, apart from Liam who held the door open for me. As the door swung shut behind him, we all walked around the table picking random chairs. I took my normal seat next to my dad’s and Niall came to sit next to me. The boys were all spread out along the table until a few more workers and business people started to arrive, and then they all ran to sit next to me and Niall.

Once again, it took ages for their manager to turn up, but when he did, we heard no excuses. My dad was the last to arrive though, claiming he was going through my evaluated demos. The boys all looked at me in confusion before I gave then a look that read ‘I’ll tell you later’ and they let it go. My father introduced the topic of One Directions next album and I fought the urge to tune out again. I knew I should really be listening.

“Ok, I know there was some expression of interest to make the new album have a bit of a rock influence?” Dad questioned and turned to the boys before giving me a weird look. I know it probably looked weird as fuck seeing me and a boy band sitting together and actually getting along.

I watched as each of the boys nodded, as well as their manager. “Yeah, we wanted to appeal to more possible fans, while still keeping our roots in the music. We don’t want to go all out drums and guitar, but we didn’t want to keep making the same generic material, you know?” Louis spoke. Dad nodded understandingly towards him before speaking again.

“So if I’m correct, you are still looking for pop songs with a hint of rock. Do you have any artists in mind that you’re taking influence from?” He questioned and the boys looked to each other. As they all shook their heads in unison, I giggled slightly at how alike they were, but was quickly shushed by my father’s glare. I have to be professional.

“I see, well we can get our song writers working on new songs right away-" Dad started but I cut him off.

“No, we should let the boys have some creative influence. Not being a fan of the boys myself,” I gave a ‘sorry’ look to the boys who in turn, smiled and brushed it off, “one aspect of the music that I really don’t like is how impersonal it is. All the songs are the same. They are all about girls, love and heartbreak. They are teenage boys, singing about the gayest subjects that could possibly be thrown at them. I know that it sells well as it is, but maybe if the boys had some creative influence in the lyrics; it might sell better with the girls. For example, we might get a bit of Harry’s cheeky side in there.” I blurted out before actually realising I was in a professional meeting. I expected my dad to order me out of the room for possibly humiliating his clients, but he just looked surprised and he actually seemed to be taking in this information.
