Alexander sighed and moved towards the stairs. He stopped just at the end of the hallway closest and looked over, "is that thing still in there?" He asked a bit afraid of the answer.
Parkis stood up and walked over towards the closes and opened the door. Inside was a large box big enough to hide a body. "It appears so," he opened the box and frozen ice and poked around in it. "Still fresh," he laughed, "I need to get the heart of it out, mind helping me?"
"What is it?" Alexander peered over Parkis' shoulder.
"It is definitely not the little girl she disguised herself as when I killed her." Parkis shuffled the box out of the closet and brought it to the kitchen for better light. "They are leeches, they possess the bodies of children and then once they die they mutate into horrendous creatures. Their true forms are hardly seen but they are very unpleasant to look at, might even make you nauseous just glancing at this."
And he was right; Alexander threw up tea and bread and whatever else that mashed together in his stomach.
"Not on my clean floor!" Parkis yelled in disgust. "Come on, man up boy."
"Oh god," he looked back up at the thing still sitting in ice chunks in the large crate. "The smell is the worst."
"You will get used to it," Parkis laughed and cleared off the table against the wall and pulled it out into the middle of the room. "That or cover your nose."
Parkis put a cloth over the table and instructed Alexander to lift up the legs of the creature to haul it onto the surface. He then went over to the china cabinet and opened the bottom draw and pulled out a small black case. Alexander poked and prodded the dead frozen body with his finger.
"This is weird," Alexander gagged again on the smell. "I thought you needed the heart of a human?"
"I need the heart, a rib and the tongue." Parkis set the tool kit beside the head and opened it. "You might want to wear gloves if you are squeamish of dead organs." He held out a pair of doctor gloves to Alexander. "When these creatures possess human children, their organs are still intact, it's just their outer shell that changes. Human inside, monster outside."
The creature was a mangled mess with dark hair falling out and eyes opened wide with a demonic stare into the ceiling. The neck was broken and the head oddly shaped into what could have been road kill of a cat and human. The body was skinny and covered in scales of sorts with clawed fingers and boney knuckles. Parkis took out a scalpel and cut the garment of the 'child' to expose decaying and bruised fleshy scales. He made a clean incision into the chest and down the stomach. The flesh opened up with fatty tissues bursting out over the body.
"I think I'm going to be sick again..." Alexander said after cleaning up his last mess.
"Please expel your stomach into a bucket next time," Parkis said focusing onto the cavity of the chest. He took out a saw and began hacking at the ribs. "Once you get passed the first little bits you will be fine."
"I think I'd be better off dissecting myself than this thing." Alexander watched trying to keep down his contents.
There was a snap of bone and Parkis took out a chunk of it and reached his hand into the defrosting contents and pulled out the small childlike heart. "There we go, I like to keep things as clean as possible in my home, other than that I like bloody messes." He smiled.
"That's a heart?" Alexander reached over fascinated by such an organ.
"Have you never been to school?" Parkis asked.
