As I walk down the hall towards the linen closet to grab blankets and pillows for everyone, I look into the kids room. They lay there peacefully, their chests rising and falling. I slip in and stand against the wall.
"You have quite amazing perents," I whisper, "Never forget that, they'll do anything for you, they love you."
I stand there looking at them glad for the escape.
"You okay Scott?" I look over to see Lydia standing in the doorway.
"Ya, ya I'm fine just checking up on them," I say walking towards the door.
"Get some sleep Scott, okay," she says as I exit the room.
"Ya I'm going to try, I just know it won't be easy," I respond to her truthfully turning around to look at her
"Everyone is safe, just shut off your mind and you'll be fine," she responds looking me in the eye, " Promise me you'll actually try."
"I promise," I say returning her gaze.
"Thank you," she says turning back to the living room.
I get the blankets give them out to everyone then set myself up beside Liam
"I love you" I hear him say kissing Hayden
"I love you too," she says as they part, holding his hand.
"I wish I had that," I think as I close my eyes, "I wish I could kiss the person I love the most, goodnight."
