Keith's POV:

I haven't spoken to anyone since I saw (Y/N) and (Y/B/N) kissing in her bedroom. I couldn't think straight. I tried to distract myself with thinking about what my next course of action was when we got back to the Castle, but my mind would always wander back to that moment. My heart was pained with an indescribable feeling, and I couldn't shake it. But before long, Shiro came up and rushed me out so we could eat at a restaurant with (Y/N)'s family.

(Y/N) had changed into a very beautiful red dress with black polka dots on it that reached to about her mid-thigh. She had on two inch wedges, along with her hair pulled back in a high ponytail. 'Dang, she looks good in red...' I thought, before remembering that she had a boyfriend. I had to remind myself to breathe when she walked down the stairs looking like that. Thankfully, no one noticed.

When we got to the restaurant, it seemed that she knew everybody there! Every few minutes someone was walking up to the table to give her hugs or talk to her! Her bus driver, some teachers, a few band friends, people she had helped at organizations, everyone wanted to see (Y/N) tonight! But that wasn't even the most annoying part.

When we were walking up, (Y/N) had seen a friend of hers. She ran up to her, and I could hear the two squealing and giggling and laughing, and even saw (Y/N) spinning around to show off her dress. I couldn't look away from her; I was mesmerized.

Suddenly I felt a sharp hit to my side. "Better watch out, Keith. She has a boyfriend," Hunk warned me. I blushed. Man, I hated getting caught.

"I don't like her like that... I barely like her at all!" I defended myself unconvincingly. Hunk just shook his head and placed his hand on my shoulder.

"We both know that's not true..." He trailed off, leaving me to watch my arch enemy's sister who I wasn't supposed to love.

She walked over, accompanied by her friend who she introduced as Buddy. But the really annoying part about Buddy was that (Y/N) invited her to eat with us, meaning that her attention would be completely undivided, but only for Buddy.

And one by one, more and more friends she had came up to the table to talk to her. Juniors, sophomores, freshmen, middle schoolers, teachers, bus drivers. Anyone and everyone talked to her. I couldn't even get a word in.

She was laughing with Buddy the entire night. Her smile was wide and her beautiful bright, white teeth were showing. The happiness radiated off of her, and it was impossible not to smile with her. Unfortunately, it was also hard to not stare at her the entire time.

I felt Lance elbow me under the table multiple times throughout the night, and every time I looked at him, he was glaring at me. I assumed he was warning me to stay away from his sister, but at this point I couldn't care less. I could only care that she was laughing and smiling because of someone else, and dreaming even bigger things with someone else.

I turned around from Lance for the thirtieth time tonight in time to see two packs of crackers fly across the room and hit (Y/N) and Buddy in the head. The two looked to see where the crackers had come from, laughing and giggling. They saw their bus driver who was trying to look innocent, and they threw them back at him with twice as much force. I laughed at that, but only lightly so as not to draw attention to me.

After saying goodbye to everyone we knew in the restaurant, we left and walked out to the car.

"Hey Buddy, do you want a ride home?" I heard (Y/N) call to her friend.

"Sure!" She replied gratefully. I groaned inwardly. Now I have to listen to them in the car as well.

And that's when the best thing ever happened. (Y/B/N) showed up! Wow, and I thought it couldn't get any worse! He ran up to (Y/N), who jumped into his arms and hugged him.

"Do you mind if we talk?" (Y/N) asked quietly into his shoulder.

"Sure, sweetheart," he said, and they walked to the other side of the building and away from us. She even left Buddy alone, so I knew that something was up. I secretly followed and hid behind a tree, waiting for this to play out.

"(Y/B/N), I love you, really I do. But I might not be back for a while and--" he cut her off with a quick peck on the lips.

"I know where you're going with this, and I was surprised that this hadn't come up sooner. But, I love you too, more than anything. I'll be waiting for your return, my love," he said, grabbing her right hand and pulling it to his lips to place a kiss there. I now know what had been paining my heart all night long.

    It was jealousy.
