Keeping a friend(completed)

The talk

When Matt leaves and maya sits back down we start talking again.

We go back to the subject of Kendal and how it's my fault.

"I was going to tell Kendal but we had this great friendship and all. I told them to both come over to my house so, I could tell Kendal. then Kendal saw me and Leo kissing. so he punched him and that's how it started" I told her all about it and talking a sip of my coffee once and a while.

And here comes "the kiss" with Kendal I have to tell her about.

"So how about that 'date' or something with Kendal go?" She says putting quotation marks around date. I didn't want to tell her but, she's already been in the dark too long.

"Just swell!" saying in sarcasm taking a sip of my coffee. she gives me a questionable look.

"Why?what happened?" she asks. I look around to see who's around but, no one I know is here so my secret won't be spreading like wild fire.

"I was at the fair with Kendal and we watched the fireworks together and..." I say in a whisper so no one can hear about my love life.

"Just spit it out already!" she yells. I get back to the story.

"We kissed" I say in a small voice. she leans back in her chair and laughs.

"Kendal? our Kendal?" she asks trying to get more information about the crime of love.

"Is there any other Kendal that we know?" I ask her because I wanted to answer a question with a question.

If she dies of laugher it's not my fault!

"I can't believe he made the move ad that's a bug step for Kendal, because first, he's never had a girlfriend without telling us. and second, really him? Sooo, how's the kiss? is he a good kisser?"

I stop her by grabbing an ice cube from an abandon cup and putting it down her shirt. every second she yells while her arms are flying around.

"How about you find out yourself" I say to her. she gives me the 'WTF' look.

"Are you done talking about 'him'?" I say. here comes her advice.

"If you don't want my advice, don't take it but here's something go with the one that makes you happy and makes you feel like your alive. go with that guy you fell in live this is not just a hookup this is your life if you choose the wrong guy it will change who you are today and you won't change back tomorrow" maya said in a low voice as she looked out the window and started to grab her stuff and her coffee.

She gave me a wave and set off to the other side. I look over at the empty seat and tend not to think because thinking gets me in more trouble and more boy problems like staying at Leo's, kissing Kendal, having no one at all to hold me in my time of need.
