My green eyes blazed as I watched them, blood practically boiling. She should have known this would happen, they both should have. One cannot curse my name and not expect retaliation in return.

As I watched the couple clutch their bundle of joy tightly, I could not help but remember the words that she had uttered about me, against me. Her words had been uttered out of pure anger, desperation, and heartbreak; but that did not mean I would let them go in one ear and out the other. She had insisted that I was not gentle or forgiving, incapable of love or miracles. But oh, how wrong she was.

Of course, if she had known my plans, perhaps she would have shown more decorum, even after losing her first baby. It was my plan, after all, that had first drawn her and Luciano together; I may not have had anything directly to do with her suffering a week of torture or a miscarriage, but I had known all long just how strong such things would make her, how much closer she and Luciano would become.

If she had not endured the week of torture, or the miscarriage, would she and Luciano be near as close as they are now? I think not. My plan was, therefore, a blessing in disguise, after all, no matter if they thought so or not.

She and Luciano had been happily, blissfully married for the past three years and were now blessed with a baby girl. The two Packs were now practically fused as one, stronger and more united than ever; they had successfully squashed most of the resistance against them, creating a new, safe environment to raise their child in.

And they say I am cold hearted and unforgiving! Ha! If only they knew the plans I had in store for them!

Still, that didn't mean that they could go unpunished. They had spoken out against me, harshly, and deserved way more punishment than a mere baby born deaf-mute; but since I was indeed so forgiving, I would cut them some slack. But just this once...

Still, it pained me to see the panic written on their faces at the realization that their baby girl would never cry their names after having a nightmare, or hear them tell her that they loved her. And what of her Mate?!? How will she ever be able to communicate with her Mate, to tell him that he belongs to her and/or to hear him say that was his and his alone?

As pained as I was, I knew that I had made the right decision. They needed to realize, all of them, that words and actions do indeed have consequences; by giving their child to them without the gift of hearing or speaking, perhaps they all will indeed learn their lesson. And that, sometimes, the life of their child can be used as atonement for the sins of a mother.

A/N: Crappy, and really really short, first chapter, sorry guys.... I just wanted y'all to see why exactly it was that Giselle was born deaf-mute.... As for why it was so short, I just couldn't find my groove to write in the moon goddess' POV, but I promise the rest will be better..... Just give me time, and keep reading!:)
thanks for continuing on this journey with me!!!:):)
