Lolita mood board.
Lolita sat at the foot of the fluffy antique canopy bed. A top the creamy egg shell feathered cover. Ronan's bed to be exact. She lathered the bronzing lotion on her pale skin over her faux golden tan. In attempt to make it look as if she had really been in Californian all that time. It'd been a heart wrenching couple of months for the young girl and the after math wasn't much better.
Lolita was set to marry Ronan within hours and as she stared lifelessly at the white ball gown she'd be slipping into she felt hollow. As a little girl growing up this is not how she had pictured her wedding day. Sure the gown was lovely and more extravagant then anything she ever dreamed she could afford. And sure Ronan was unbelievably handsome and very wealthy. A decent man who loved his family with had lots of friends. But he wasn't the one she was in love with.
"Knock knock." Bianca spoke up in her elegant birdie chirp manner knocking her nails against the door as she opened it. Viewing Lolita sitting in her short beige velvet robe. One of many gifts from the Cartridge family for keeping her mouth shut. "How's the bride to be today?"
"Good." Lolita lied with a foe smile. Putting her tanning lotion down on the fancy metal tray that sat next to her.
"Wonderful." Bianca replied in an over joyed tone that didn't reach her eyes. She was well aware Lolita was miserable. But of course Bianca wasn't to happy with the way events had turned out either. "Everything seems to be going off without a hitch. This wedding is supposed to be the event of the fall. And for the money we've spent it better be. I hope you're not overwhelmed."
"Isn't every bride supposed to be overwhelmed on their wedding day?" Lolita laughed a dark low laugh. Fiddling with her expensive nails. The first time having acrylics.
"I suppose." Bianca shrugged. "Be it that none of your friends could make it to the wedding Saraphina Baxter has agreed to be your maid of honor."
"Great." Lolita lied through her teeth. Not exactly thrilled her brides maids were complete strangers. In fact everyone at the wedding would be a stranger, even her groom.
"Hello mother." Ronan's voice sounded. Although his foot steps up the staircase had already given away his presence.
"Ronan. You're not supposed to see the bride before the wedding." Bianca chortled as Ronan kissed his mother's cheek.
"You know me I always seem to break tradition don't I mother." Ronan said coldly as he stepped into the bedroom and sat down on the fainting chair. Opposite Lolita. The window light glazed against him, warming his skin.
