He's Just Not That Into Me

Will I catch up to love?

*Age 26*
"So I'll see you there, right?" Jacks asks over a Skype call.

I look over to my laptop as I finish cooking mac n cheese. "No, I'm gonna ditch you and leave you all alone." I duck behind the counter so I'm not visible on camera.

"Noo!" He laughs. "Come back!"

I pop back up. "Don't worry, I wouldn't leave you like that!" I give him a warm smile.

"I'm excited to finally meet you in person!" He jumps up and down in his seat.

"You do realize you and I could just meet up now? I mean, all you are is sitting in your hotel room. We'd have about two hours to hang out."

His eyes go wide. "You wanna come pick me up?"

"Of course I'll be there-" he cuts me off.

"Okay, great! I'll see you soon!" He ends the call.

I look around. "So much for Mac n cheese," I mumble to myself. I take a bite anyways, then grab my car keys.

I'll be standing outside :) He texts.

I pull up to his hotel, and sure enough, I see the little green haired Irish man.

He jumps up and down, and gets in the car. He hugs me.

"It's sooooo good to FINALLY see you in person!" He giggles.

"Right! After all the chances we've had, I'm surprised we haven't yet."

"Hey, sometimes schedules just don't match up. No worries."

"So, we have about an hour. What shall we do?" I wonder out loud, pulling out of the hotel drop off.

"We could go out to lunch. My treat?" He suggests.

"Ya know, I did make food until you decided I needed to leave right then and there."

"What'd you make again? Sorry I can't remember," he chuckles.

"It was mac n cheese. But knowing Grace she's probably got to it already."

"Then let's go out. Where do you reccomend?"

"Steak n' shake is always my go to. It's amazing, and cheap." I pause for a moment. "Can you pull up directions to the one closest to the convention?"

"Of course!" He hands me his phone with directions.

When we get there, it is crowded. Not enough to where the wait is longer than ten minutes. But crowded enough to where you'd think it would be at least a 40 minute wait.

"I also invited some of the other tubers, I hope that's okay."

"Of course it's okay! I'd be more than happy to meet more of your friends!" I say. "Besides, I think Grace is gonna come here too. She'll never pass up more food. That way we all can just go to the convention together!"

Jack and I don't bother waiting for everyone to get there before ordering.

Grace is the first to arrive. She gets there just as the server is taking our menus away.

"GUYS!" She yells. Jack jumps, which is a big surprise considering he's probably one of the loudest people on earth. Aside from Grace.

"Fukin' hell! I thought I was loud!" He gives a small laugh. Grace laughs back.

"I'm just excited! I saw the other youtubers getting out of their cars! U think you'll be really surprised to see who's here (y/n)!"

"Who's here?"

"Bob and Wade!"

At that moment, they both walk in.

"Bob, Wade!" Jack jumps up to greet them.

"I didn't know you two were youtubers!" I say, following up behind Jack.

"To be fair, it has been years since we all last talked to eachother," Bob points out.

"And we aren't the only ones who became YouTubers..." Wade adds.

"What do you mean?" I raise an eyebrow. The doors to Steak N' Shake open again.

"Sorry, I couldn't find my passes-" his voice trails off, it's a familiar voice. Bob and Wade move out of the way. There stands a shorter man, who was hidden behind them both. His hair is shaved on the sides and dyed red on top. It lays to the right side of his head. He has dark brown eyes, and a strong jaw line with some facial hair.

"Hey, (y/n)..." he gives me a quick nervous smile.

"Mark..." I nod once. "Uh, Grace can I talk to you for a sec'?" I pull her past Mark, our arms brush against each other and shivers run up and down my body, and outside. "Why the he'll didn't you tell me he was going to be here!?"

"I thought you'd be excited... what's the matter?"

"Yes, I am sooo excited to be reunited with the only man who's broken my heart and toyed with it the way he did. Let's not forget, my whole life!"

"You can't hold a grudge against him forever. That was such high school bullshit."

"I can too hold a grudge against him, and you bet I'm going to."
