When I finally got there I told one of the security guards there to go get my father. He slowly walked out with his hands in handcuffs. They took them off and he walked over to the phone. We both picked up the phone at the same time.

“Hi, honey”

“Hey dad, just wanted to see how you were doing”

“It hasn’t been that good but I’m glad that you came to visit”

“Why haven’t they let you out yet?”

“My partners are still in hiding…I’ve told them all I know but they won’t let me out until they’re found”

“Oh…” I said a little disappointed.

“Isn’t your birthday coming up soon?” He remembered?

“Yeah,” That lifted my spirit a little.

“I hope I get out before then”

“Me too… Brian and Byron make me fell so disappointed because they don’t know what happened… mother has told them that you walked out on us when they were born”

“At least you know that’s not true… you know that your mother made me hide every time you kids came home”

“I know that she had you locked up in the basement, my mom always told them that door led to hell and I would always cry”

“I’m sorry you had to go through all this”

“I know” I said then hung up. I slightly waved good-bye then left. I reached into my purse and found a couple dollars. I decided to go get a smoothie. I bought it then left, drinking it on my way home. I threw it in the trash then sadly walked to my front door. My eyes filled with tears. The puppy went over to me again. I picked him up. “Hi puppy…you can’t even make me feel better”

I set him down and went inside. He sat there staring at me as I closed the door. I walked passed my mom who kept trying to talk to me. I went into my room and threw myself onto the bed. I stared at the ceiling and started to remember some of the good… and bad memories I had of my father. I sighed then sat up. I felt dizzy and felt like throwing up. My phone rang so I answered it.

“Hello?” I said as I held my hand over my mouth.

“Hey baby! Why do you sound so weird?”

“It’s nothing Andrew…It’s just that my stomach hurts”

“Do you want me to come over?”

“If you want”

“I’ll be over in a moment” he said then hung up. I threw the phone aside feeling disgusted.

“I wonder why my stomach feels all mixed up” I said then felt a horrible taste come to my mouth rapidly. I covered my mouth and ran to the toilet. I threw up. I closed my eyes and flushed the toilet. I then went to wash my mouth and brush my teeth. I also washed my hands. “Disgusting”

I turned and saw Andrew sitting on my bed. “What’s wrong?” he asked as he stood up and hugged me from behind.

“I don’t know…I just felt really sick” I said as I looked in the mirror to see us together. It made my insides smile for how worried he looked.

“Let me take you to the hospital” he said as he started dragging me out the door.

“No…” I said as I pulled my hand away. “I mean, it’s not that bad don’t worry I feel fine”

“Are you sure?” I nodded with a smile.

“Positive” I might have just felt super overwhelmed because of the visit to prison. I’m sure it’s nothing. We went out to talk because I felt uncomfortable at my house. The rest of the day we spent together, laughing and talking about what’s going on until... we started talking about my dad.

“You still love him even though he’s done all those things?” I stared at the cup of hot chocolate he bought me.

“He’s my father and it’s not like he’s the only psycho maniac in my house”

“What do you mean?”

“My mom would take us to school and my dad would be able to come out of hiding; he would get all the things he needed then go back to the basement when my brothers and I got home from school. She wouldn’t let him go because she claimed she was in love or something stupid like that. He suffered as much as she did. And my mom’s been lying to my brothers for all these years! And you expect me to blame it all on my father!” My hot chocolate got cold; I didn’t drink it in time.

“Well yeah” I gasped and threw the hot chocolate, which was now cold, all over him. He looked at me angrily. “What the heck?”

“Think twice before you say stupid stuff like that!” I yelled as I got up. I leaned over the table and whispered, “I wonder how you’re going to get home”

I jingled the car keys in his face. I then left. When I got home I was about to walk into my house when I heard something move in the bushes. I slowly crept over to see what it was and got scared when the little puppy popped out. I laughed then pet it.

“Hey puppy” I said as I picked him up, it’s a male right? “I had a bad day today but you made it way better”

“Gryphon” I heard that guy yell outside.

“We should take you to your owner” I got up and took him outside the gate. “Is this what you’re looking for?”

He turned and saw the little puppy in my hands. I mean, he saw Gryphon in my hands. He walked up to me and I handed him the little puppy.

“Thanks…where did you find him?”

“He just scared me by popping out of a bush, but it’s alright…” I smile as I pet Gryphon.

“He’s been all over you lately…I don’t know why” I shook my head with a smile.

“I don’t know either” I said. “Well bye…”

“Hey…uh” I turned back around.

“What is it?”

“Uh…nothing” he said quickly then started walking to his front door.

“Wait!” He stopped and his dog jumped out of his arms and ran inside. “What did you want to tell me?”

“It was nothing” he said loud enough so I could hear it. He then went inside but I still stood there with a blank look on my face. I then shook it off and went inside.
