Chapter 5 Greetings

Toby’s P.O.V

Gryphon ran away again and he ended up in the same place, in our neighbor’s yard. I can’t believe I was about to get so deep into her personal life and ask her what those screams were about. It’s none of my business what was going on and if it was something violent I don’t want to remind her of anything. I also wanted to ask her why she gave me those cookies, which were delicious, but I rather not. I gave Gryphon some food then went off to watch T.V. I then ran to my room and looked out the window. I then realized there was no point in being up here.

“Why did I come up here anyway?” I asked myself as I turned around and fell because my foot was caught on something. I looked back at my window and saw the house next to me. I stood up and looked through; all I saw was a room; a girl’s room, could it be her room? I shook my head and closed the blinds.

“I should be working instead of worrying whose room is that” I told myself. I went to record some gaming videos then I played with Gryphon for a bit.

Andrea’s P.O.V

I decided to call all my friends and have a sleepover party. Firstly, I called Vanessa to help me plan it. She came over quickly. Vanessa is my best friend and we do everything together but ever since the seventh grade she’s had this obsession with YouTube celebrities, as she calls them. I never really got into YouTube. I always thought it was a waste of time. I have to admit, I went on it when I was looking for a song but I never actually looked for YouTube celebs. She says they’re really funny.

Anyway, she’s coming over to help me plan the party, like I said before. She made a guest list and I decided to get snacks and stuff. She called a bunch of people, which I thought were a little bit over ten. It turned out to be a lot! We all scattered all around the house talking, eating, dancing and other stuff. I tried to keep everything in order but it was a big mishap.

“Hey Andrea” said Vanessa worried as she went up to me. I was trying to calm people down when she did.

“What happened?” I asked.

“This dude we didn’t invite is here”

“Half the people here…we didn’t invite” I said angry.

“Actually I did…I called a lot of people” I gave her a menacing look. “But that’s not the point!” she added quickly. “The point is that guy keeps screaming Gryphon which is such a coincidence be-”

“Oh no” I said. I went over to the living room. Poor puppy! “Gryphon”

The little puppy ran to my feet in less than a minute. He was shaking and he looked terrified. Why are you so scared puppy? A man threw a beer bottle straight towards me. My eyes went wide as I ducked and covered my eyes. Now I understand why.

I scooped him up in my arms and took him next door. I know that dude is in my house but he’ll give up soon and come over here then he’ll find the puppy. I went in because the door was unlocked and put the puppy down. I can’t leave him alone, what if he runs off again? I sat down and waited. I’ll wait a little while then I’ll just leave. I surfed the web on my phone, watched T.V., ran all around the house but he never came so I decided to rest my head. I grabbed a pillow and lied down on the couch. Before I knew it I was asleep. 

When I woke up I was still on the couch. I looked around and it didn’t look like my house. There was a sticky note stuck to my face. I took it off and looked at it. Hey Girl! What are you doing in my house? Why is Gryphon here? Did you find Gryphon? I smiled and looked around for a pen. I found one and wrote my answers on the other side.

I stuck it on the glass door leading to his backyard then got out of the house and checked my phone to see a bunch of messages from Andrew. The first one read, Andrea, where are you? I’ve been looking all over. The second one was, are you even in the house? Did you get kidnapped…well adult-napped?I giggled and read the last message. It read, Are you mad at me? Is that it? I’ll give you some time. Tell me when you forgive me for whatever you think I did. Call me, will you? I love you a lot.I frowned as I walked into my house. I stepped in some mud.

“Gross!” I said as I looked down. I looked all around and saw people knocked out everywhere, even on the stairs.

“Vanessa!” I yelled. Everyone got up and I found her on the couch.

“Oh hey Andrea”

“Get all these people out of my house, right now!” I demanded.

“In a minute” She lied down again. I grabbed her by her hair.

“Now” She whistled.

“Everyone, get out of the house!” she yelled and everyone started leaving. Everyone wasn’t leaving fast enough so I grabbed my bull horn.

“Get out of my house!” I yelled into the bull horn. People ran out thinking it was the police, morons! I grabbed like four of my closest friends by the hair and told them to stay. “You lucky people get to help Vanessa clean up this house!”

They all sighed then saw that I wasn’t kidding so they got to cleaning. I still felt tired so I went up to my room which was the only room that was clean. I lied down and started to fall asleep when an arm fell on top of me. I yelled and got up.

“It’s just me…calm down” Andrew, of course! I sighed and sat on the bed. “Why are you so stressed?”

He started massaging my shoulders. “The house is a mess! That’s the problem! And my mom will be home soon…with my brothers”

“The house will be clean by then. Why don’t you go relax at Vanessa’s house?” he asked.

“What about the house?” I asked.

“I’ll have it clean by then…trust me”

“Well okay…I guess I’ll go spend time with Vanessa” I got up. I walked out and went up to Vanessa. “Vanessa, can we go hang out at your house?”

She nodded and we both left. While we were walking to her car (we both got our driving license at the same time) that dude decides to walk his dog. He walked out and Vanessa turned to see. She gasped and stood still.

“Vanessa, what’s wrong?” I asked. He was about to walk passed us and she turned really red.

“Tobuscus!” she yelled as she attacked him, Tobuscus? Tobuscus written across itOh, from that sweatshirt! Gryphon ran to me in fear as his owner was being attacked. I turned red in embarrassment. I scooped up Gryphon and stood there.

“You’re not going to help?” he asked.

“Vanessa!” I yelled. She stopped and turned to look at me. “I’m going to tell your mom that you trashed my house so she’ll take away your laptop if you don’t stop being ridiculous!”

She slowly backed off of ‘Tobuscus’.

“Thanks…” he said as he got up. He dusted himself off then grabbed Gryphon.

“I’m so sorry” I said feeling embarrassed. “I don’t know what got into her.”

“What got into me; He’s freaking Tobuscus, how would you not freak out?” she yelled from behind him. He chuckled and I felt confused.

“So your name is Tobuscus?” I asked.

“No-” She ran up to us.

“No! That’s his screen name his real name is-”

“Toby Turner…” He smiled.
