Luke
I pant as I lean my hands down on my knees. I was almost to the house. I had been running for so long that I felt like I was going to pass out.I could see black dots but I had to keep going. I had to make sure my boys were okay.
BANG!
It rang out through the trees. And sent a shiver down my spine.
I jumped back on my feet and started sprinting towards the house. Please...please tell me that didn't come from our house.
I saw black dots in front of my eyes when I finally reached the house. I was panting heavily but I didn't care, I just ran up to the door.
But I stopped in my tracks. The door was open slightly. I pushed it lightly, it squeaks and I flinch.
I step inside and there's glass on the ground. I furrow my eyebrows and pick a piece up. It's a vase that must've gotten knocked off the tiny table by the door.
I gulped as a loud thump came from the kitchen. I slowly made my way there, still gripping the shard of glass in my hand.
My breath catches in my throat when I reach the kitchen.
"Luke. Nice of you to join us." Vic says with a smile.
My eyes flicker around the room. To the officer on the ground, to the blood around him. To Ashton and Michael, who are glaring up at Vic with their hands and mouth tied. To Calum's tear stained face.
To Vic.
Holding a gun to Calum's head.
I drop the glass in shock. "Let him go." I say with confidence I didn't have.
He laughed and shook his head. "No. You should've made a decision! You should've...!"
"I should've what? Stopped my father? Stopped him from doing something when I probably wasn't even born yet? Listen to me. What happened...it's terrible. I can't imagine what you're going through." Ashton and Michael made a sound of disagreement.
I slowly took a step towards him and he pressed the gun harder against Calum, making him whimper and grip Vic's arm that was around his throat.
I stopped immediately. "Look, I can relate to what's happening to you, on some level, not to the degree your on but enough to know that it's killing you. That feeling, the one I know your feeling. That dark pit in your stomach, that overwhelming sadness and fear. It's terrible. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. But that can change. Trust me it can go away. J-just put the gun down." I reach out slightly and he seems to be in thought.
"No. No you don't understand! This-I have to do this!" He says and I can hear the sadness and desperation in his voice.
"No you don't. We can get help. Together. Look at them. If you do this, you're just doing exactly what my father did to you, your leaving them with that overwhelming feeling of nothingness. You don't want that." I try to reason and he looks at all three of the boys before he grits his teeth, fire in his eyes as he points the gun at me.
"You're right. It's not them I want. Your father did this!" I put my hands up but Don't back away.
"You're right. You know what you are. My father did something terrible. But please, don't make me pay for my dads mistakes." He furrows his eyebrows again and shakes his head, like he's trying to shake thoughts out of his head.
"I'm not. This will hurt him more! It's his fault." I nod along with him, my hands still up in a calming gesture. I take a small step forward and his eyes dart to the movement.
"But...but just think of Kellin. What would he say if he was here? Would he really want to see his love massacring people's children because of something the parents did?" I let him think about it before I added. "Kellin wouldn't want this. Just let Calum go."
"Put the gun down and we can get help." I say slowly. He has tears in his eyes and I give him a small smile and a nod.
"Do the right thing. For Kellin."
He looks down at Calum, who now has his eyes shut tight, whimpering.
"For Kellin?" He whispers and I nod.
He shakes his head again and I take another step forward.
"I can't go to jail."
"You won't. Just let us go and we'll forget all about seeing you." I mumble. Michael and Ashton's eyes go wide but they stay quiet.
"Just let him go." I say, almost a whimper.
"Your lieing." He mumbles and I shake my head no.
"No! If you just let him go then we'll forget all about this." I say desperately.
"You're lieing!" He yells and points the gun at me, which had been lowering considerably. "You know what. You're right. I'm going to do it for Kellin."
BANG!
Uhhhhh. Yea.
These all end with a bang and I don't mean to do that...
Detention was so boring tho...we literally were aloud to sit there and that's it...for an hour.
