Chapter 8

Barry entered the tall building. He saw Joe as he strode quickly. Barry approached him.

" Look, Joe... I've got information about that homicide. I guess I know the-"

"Do not talk to me that way," Joe said. "We are not partners and we are not friends."

Tony suddenly appeared. "Cap's expecting you!"

Barry nodded. Barry entered Captain Singh's cabin.

"Sir?" Barry asked.

"Come in baby!" Captain Singh said. He wore a naughty smile on his face

Baby? Something really seemed wrong.

Barry came in.

"Sit baby!" Captain Singh ordered.

Barry sat down.

"When are we up for it then Barry?" Captain Singh asked. He still had a smile on his face. In the other timeline Captain Singh was always shouting at him and threatening to fire him.

" For what... sir?" Barry asked.

"You have delayed it for five years Barry. I've been waiting to see how good you are in bed. I have fulfilled all your demands. You asked me to decrease Joe's wages and I did so. You need to return the favour now," Captain Singh said.

What the fuck? Barry thought. He didn't like Captain Singh at all. And he would surely never sleep with him even if his job was at stake. But Barry had to play up with his other supposed personality.

"Next week...sir!" Barry said. "I promise."

"Okay baby, just don't disappoint me... otherwise I have a lot of things to disappoint you with," Captain Singh said.

Barry exited the cabin.

Everybody clapped. Barry smiled. But then he learned it wasn't for him that the people applauded. They were watching a news on the T.V. with the headlines "Captain Cold saves the day yet again!"

Captain Cold? How could he possibly be existing in this timeline?

"Three cheers for Cap Cold!" Tony yelled which was followed with three cheers.

"Hey Barry!" a similar voice said. "How've you been?"

Barry turned around to see Eddie Thawne. He was alive!

"HEY EDDIE!" Barry exclaimed.

Eddie's phone rung.

"Yeah! Iris I'll just be there."

Barry was shocked. So Eddie got the girl in this timeline too.

Eddie patted Barry. "Sorry, got to go, girlfriend's call."

Eddie turned to leave. Barry felt really awful. So Eddie got the girl here too.

Eddie Thawne was the partner of Joe West in the other timeline, and ancestor to Eobard. In an attempt to save The Flash he killed himself, hence erasing Eobard from existence. Barry was confused because the present remained as it was. Had Eobard never been born, he never would have killed Barry's mom. But nothing changed until now.

"Yo Barry!" Tony said, "Blackie's callin' you in the mortuary."

Barry turned to leave and was determined to test his powers... again. But Tony stopped him and offered to drive him. Barry couldn't deny the generous offer and within fifteen minutes they reached the mortuary.

It was a cool place but a horrid stench hung low in the congested room.

"The body's name is Carlos Valdes, scientist at Lex Corps. Your take." Joe explained.

" It seems that someone has murdered him using his hands," Barry deduced.

Joe smirked. "If it wasn't for your flirting with Captain SIngh, you would've been fired by now. DON'T JOKE BARRY ALLEN!"

"I am not joking Mr.West." Barry said seriously. "I really do mean it! The hole in his chest is the size of a fist."

"Who could possibly have the strength to punch a hole through someone?" Joe asked rhetorically.

" "The mighty force who uses scientific knowledge to save the world" has that much strength." Barry replied.

"You couldn't blame The Yellow Streak!" Joe exclaimed.

"The Yellow Streak?" Barry questioned.

" That's the mighty force yeah... The Yellow Streak," Joe replied.

Barry recalled the name he was called till he was known as The Flash, The Red Streak. Barry really wanted to know how The Reverse Flash was escaping time again.

"Hey Barry, let's go now! We'll debate it with Blackie later," Tony said.

Before Joe could protest being called "Blackie", Barry and Tony quickly exited the morgue.

They sat in the car.

"Where are we going now Tony?" Barry asked.

"You are due with that hooker of yours in half-an hour," Tony replied.

"Hooker?"

"Yeah...Hooker. Her name's...what....um...Patty yeah!"

The name shocked Barry Allen.

"Patty... as in Patty Spivot?" Barry asked again.

"Yeah I guess so. DUDE! She's your hooker. You'll know her better than anybody." Tony said.

Barry felt terrible. Patty was his ex-girlfriend in the other timeline and a member of Joe's meta-human task force. Her father was killed by a meta-human, Mark Mardon. It was then that she got determined to defeat the evil meta-humans.

They drove in a bar, City Hooker Club. They entered the bar. There were many pole dancers surrounded by shameless men. What Barry didn't realize was that he himself was a "shameless'" man in this timeline.

A well-built man in a tuxedo approached him.

"Mr.Allen!" the man exclaimed.

"That's me...yeah!" Barry replied.

"She's in room number 462 ," the man said.

Barry took a deep breath. He was about to meet another woman who mattered to him, in the other timeline at least.
