The news

James' POV

"Well, sit down please sir"

"I have some news.....erm Leah is in a coma and we aren't sure if she'll make it through but some good news Ella-Louise is awake and abit shaken but we still need to run a few tests. you can go though and see them."

He broke the news

I was relieved my cousin was awake and well but I really hope Leah is okay she is Ella's best friend and has been since first year or secondary school, they were really close like sisters. My uncle Darren and auntie Jane won't be arriving in Birmingham until 8 and it was 5 now, I felt so bad I persuaded them I wouldn't let anything happen to her while she was living with me in Birmingham but I've let them down.

When we got into their room Ella looked rough but Leah looked terrible she looked so helpless, lying there motionless the only movement her body made was he chest raising at ever breath and deflating. it was horrible to sit here and know there I nothing you do to help. she had cuts all over her face and fresh bruises, she had a tube going down hear throat to help her breathe.

"Ella are you okay? How's your head? what happ..." I threw questions at her

"James James calm down I'm okay" she interrupted rubbing my shoulder I was very protective over her she was like a sister too me seen I hardly get to see my actual sister.

"She looks so ill" Ella stated looking over at Leah. tears started to form in her eyes, before she held her head in hands. I didn't know what to do I looked over and Connor who was looking wide eyed at me nodding towards Ella. I wrapped my muscular arms around her tightly as she started sobbing on my shoulder.

A few minutes later the doctor returned "erm excuse my I have some test results for you Ms McVey" he told Ella

"Would you guys mind giving us a minute" I stood up to walk out as she grabbed my arm "excuse me doctor could James stay please he's my cousin I would really like him to stay for support"

"Of course Ms McVey"

I sat backdown as all the others left.

"I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but ....you have a cancerous tumour in your brain. I am so very sorry, ill leave to give you some time"

Ella's POV

"I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but ....you have a cancerous tumour in your brain." That was the last thing I wanted to hear. its the last thing anyone wants to hear that they have cancer I'm only 17 I'm too young to die! I don't want to die! I threw my hands into my hands and started crying uncontrollably. I had so much life to live but not that's been cut short. I had my life planned out I know what I wanted to do but now I'm gonna have to scrap it all.

"my life is over! its ruined" I shouted

"Don't say that Ella! Never say that!" James insisted before pulling me into a big bear were I found my self crying weaving year stains from my mascara on James' white top. I knew from here on it's just going to be downhill. I wish I could just erase all of this so it would of never happened. I looked up at James "can you go and get the others they need to know"

"Sure, anything" he replied before leaving I looked over to Leah again wishing she could just be here right now and help me get through this, she's always been there for me when I've needed her and I've done same when she has needed me. all I wanted was to hear her speak right now. A tear feel from my eye I wiping it way just before the others came in

"Please say its good news it's all we need right now" ami said I looked at her then at James

"You tell them please I can't do it " I begged

"Guys, the doctors did some test to make sure everything was okay and normal and its come back..." he stopped before starting to wiping a few tears away "Ella ..... has got cancer"
