BEHIND THOSE EYES

Chapter 5

Vanessa strolled briskly to their usual lunch table and pointed a finger at Daniel to halt his movement as he was about to welcome her. The look on her face warned him to stay put in his seat and he did.
"You told me nothing happened , how could you have lied to me."
"What are you talking about?" Daniel asked confused at her sudden outburst, he was expecting her to be mad at him but not this mad.
"I'm talking about you and Nina".
"Busted." Eric said under his breath but Vanessa heard him.
"You knew?" She turned her glare at him.
"Of course I knew, he's my best friend." he replied nonchalantly then went back to eating his lunch then she turned her glare back to the more deserving person.
"I told you everything last night." Daniel defended.
"Everything? I don't recall you telling me about your make out session." Daniel opened his mouth to talk but nothing came out.
"Yeah i didn't think so, how could I have being so stupid? Here I was thinking about forgiving you for keeping the truth from me about tutoring her and I find out that you've being kissing her alongside? How do you expect me to deal with that. Do you know how ridiculous I looked a few minutes ago when she threw that to my face then walked away?"
"Well that explains why she wanted to sit in your spot..."Kaitlin blurted out.
"She was here?!"Vanessa screeched "She's got some nerve going after my boyfriend."
"Can't we talk about this privately?" Daniel pleaded.
"So you're not denying it."
"Nor am I accepting it" Daniel grabbed her gently into her seat and she allowed him to when she realized everyone in the cafeteria was staring at them.
"I was kind of hoping it wasn't true, you did kiss her." Vanessa started sobbing.
"No it was the other way round, she kissed me" said Daniel sheepishly.
"Oh I see and you allowed her to."
"She caught me off guard OK,i would never do that to you intentionally. If you don't trust me at least don't think that low of me either.I don't go about kissing every girl I see when I have the smartest and most beautiful girl as my girlfriend." Daniel held her chin and turned her to face him.She looked into his beautiful blue eyes and for a moment forgot about why she was mad at him.
"I do trust you." Vanessa said calmly "Its just that she has always tried to get what I have and I don't want it to start with you, you are the most important person to me and it will kill me if she tears us apart and knowing her that's exactly what she's aiming for."
"Then let's not give her that pleasure, OK?"He smiled.
"OK but please never be alone with her ever again."
"I give you my word." He chuckled then leaned towards her ."You know you look cute when you're mad." He said then kissed her.
"Now that you guys aren't fighting anymore,thankfully, can we have lunch now. "Adriana another cheerleader on their table said and they both pulled away blushing.
"I hear the P.A.F GALS are back in business." Troy said a few minutes later after everything had quieted down.
"Oh yes." The girls replied excitedly.
"I don't know why you stopped in the first place your blog was what kept this school alive." Adriana added. "Your lockers look great by the way."
"All thanks to the painter." said Kaitlin.
"Pink is awesome, and I liked the way he inscribed the P.A.F GALS on each of your lockers and designed it with flowers." she added.
"Girl you sound more excited about it than we are." Vanessa teased. Just then a few girls from second year approached their table.
"Vanessa are you going to post next weeks cloths collections since the the P.A.F girls are back?"
"Yes we will and keep an eye out for our gossip column too its coming life and coloured."

"Sweet!"the second year former exclaimed excitedly.

Vanessa winked at them and the girl who spoke along with her friends giggled and walked away chattering gleefully.

"You sure do know how to keep the younger girls excited, one wink and a smile from you and they'll just about do anything for you." Tory another cheerleader said and that made everyone laugh.
"Guys where is Shane?" She looked around then added "And Richard? I haven't heard their voices since I joined you."
"Oh don't worry about them they're probably making out somewhere after Kat pissed them off."Tory offered.
"Kat did what?" Vanessa looked at Kaitlin who had a sheepish look on her face. Just then the first warning bell sounded and everyone in the cafeteria hurried to get to their various classes.
"Come on I'll explain everything on the way." Kaitlin said to Vanessa as she pried her away from Daniels arms as they were about to kiss. "You'll get to kiss her all you want after school, right now we need to go or we'll be late."Daniel blew her a kiss then run off with his friends. Kaitlin explained everything to her on their way to their lockers and they were both surprised when they got there to find Shane waiting for them there and she looked like Christmas came early this year. "Looks like Tory was right after all."They both burst out in laughter.
"Come on girls we're going to be late"She handed their books over to them, apparently she had taken it from their lockers while waiting for them to get there.
"So you're not made at me? "Kaitlin asked with caution.
Shane put her arms around both of them and smiled broadly.

"Why on earth would i be mad at you,you just gave me the best lunch ever.My day just went from horrible to awesome and its all thanks to you and your loud mouth."She gave Kaitlin a kiss.

"So I'm guessing you and Richard made up with some hot make out session."Vanessa winked at her.

"Honey we did more than make out" Shane said with a sly look on her face and her friends squealed coming to a halt.

"Details,now!" they both said at the same time making her laugh.

"Come on I'll feed your curious minds."She told them what transpired between her and Richard when she went after him after Kaitlin had lashed out at him.Before realizing it they appeared in front of their classroom and luckily for them their teacher wasn't in yet so they continued their chit chat.It seems everything worked out well for everyone that day because luckily for them the rest of the day was drama free and they were all glad to be spending time together with all their four close friends including Richard in their favorite cafe after school,it had being such a long time since all four of hanged out together.They were happy because the whole group was back together and to be honest it wasn't the same without Richard being there and now that they have their crazy friend back everything was perfect.
