Digging too Deep (part four)

"So how's the prompt Izzy?" that all too familiar feminine voice asked.
"It's ridiculous Mario. I've gotten all of six paragraphs finished, but
regardless, it's rubbish." she complained falling into step with Mario.
"Shut up, it probably kills. You know the boss will pick your draft over
everyone else’s, as per usual." Mario rolled his eyes.
She sighed, and then spoke, "A love-struck teenager would be far more suited for
this topic. I feel like this one will go to Darla."
"Next office over?" he inquired.
"Yeah, she and that guy from the first floor have been on and off for like three
years."
"True... But I don't think she's in the column this month." he waved at a man
passing by the pair.
"Either way, mine is going terrible and I know nothing about this crap!" Isobel
was losing control of her emotions. There's only so much weird stuff a girl
could handle. She couldn't afford the stress of her coworker badgering her about
this on top of everything else.
"Chill out, I didn't force you to sign up for the job." He was obviously
offended by her snappy reply.
"Your rite, I’m sorry it's just I’ve had some weird stuff happen to me lately. I
just need to quit bringing my personal life to my job. I'll take the weekend to
just gather my thoughts. Do some yoga or something of the sort. “She let out in
defeat. What the hell was becoming of her? She should be thrilled to write this
dumb prompt, people would kill for her position.
"Sitting on the couch reaching for the remote does not count as 'yoga' Izz." he
mocked, jabbing at her sides.
Her face turned grave, "But it's serious business." She let out a hardy laugh
and walked with Mario until she reached her small office.
She brought up her document she was working on previously through her work
email. She read and then reread over it, trying to add something worth reading.
No matter what she wrote, within seconds was deleted. She rubbed at her temples,
and stared furiously at the computer.
Damn Margaret and her stupid prompt.
The chime signaling new emails rang loudly throughout her office. She hovered
her mouse over to the inbox and clicked.
New email from: DFTS
Hello Isobel. How have you been? I've been great still working the family
business. It's been easier than when you were here. Long time no talk. People
have rumored for years your death was fake, but never would I have though it to
be true! Such a shame that your little charade is up, everyone is after you for
betraying your kingdom. Little brother promises to plant big "clues" to your
treachery. I promise you, this time you get murdered, everyone will have to
watch. Only to ensure this does not happen again. Tood-a-loo sis!
Her finger shook over the mouse. What the hell was happening? She never faked
her death! She’s been here in the city for nearly all her life! Who the hell is
playing these tricks on her? They weren't funny, and scared her like nothing
ever has.
She deleted the email and tried to pretend that she was not a physco; that
everything was completely normal.
A shaky breath escaped her shiny glossed lips. She pushed her chair away from
her desk, grabbed her laptop, went down to the first floor, and fled the
building.

A short trek through the city and she was at the front doors of her apartment
complex.
"Home sweet home..."
She dug in her pocket and grabbed the key to her door then shoved it in.
She took a single quiet step in.
"I'm sorry about this Isobel." a gruff voice sneered behind her. She felt a cold
point jam into her neck and her hands being tied.
She barely had enough time to gasp, before all went black.

hey guys! I know it's been a while since I've last uploaded but that doesn't
matter- I'm back to writing now and plan to have this story FINISHED by June 30th.
So just bear with me and keep supporting me! The story seems like it's going
kind of fast but we haven't even got to the good parts yet! Also, I know this
story tends to be farfetched at times- it IS fiction. Anyway~ Happy New Year!!!!! :D
