It was morning now and Isobel had ignored her alarm clock earlier, which in turn was making her rather late. It was nearly nine, but she was supposed to be in work over an hour ago. As she scurried along the hardwood floors of her apartment, she nearly tripped over her broom. She stopped and stared at it. She let out a shaky breath and nearly ran to the door.

Isobel was scurrying through the streets of downtown. It was just another day, rushing to work, after missing the train for the thousandth time now. She sported some dark jeans and a comfortable black pea coat, with a white pair of gloves and a matching beanie atop her perfectly straight brown hair. Her left hand held a scalding cup of coffee from Starbucks, her right hand resting at at her side. Her nose was a warm rosy shade of pink. Her eyes, squinting in response to the icy wind attacking her face, landed on a brown and yellow leaf being tossed around like a rag-doll at the wind's command

"I wish my life was that simple..." she whispered into the wind.

She quickened her pace to try to catch the leaf. She felt like a schoolgirl doing it, but she did it anyway. She smiled when she began to gain on the leaf.

Giggling like a fool, she had then clashed into someone and fell to the ground.

"Holy... Holy crap! That is scalding hot!" a dark alluring voice screamed as he clambered off her and threw off his coffee-drenched coat. The man looked to be in his early twenties. He wore beige khakis with a big brown coat, and a red checkered scarf- positively accenting his attire. His hands were smothered in worn brown gloves, and his nose was beet-root red.

"My god! Oh my god, I'm so sorry can I..." Isobel was cut off from her frantic attempt at an apology.

"I think you have done enough! You dumb..." the man finally willed his stubborn eyes to look at her. She was beautiful, despite her furious eyes that were glaring daggers through him. He gaped at her, his jaw nearly reaching his toes.

"You know what? You're an asshole! I did not purposefully fall onto you and spill my expensive cup of coffee on you! Heck, that was like a six dollar cup!" she was so incredibly livid with his reaction, she was practically steaming.

His face had softened; it was like a completely different person. Then the features had unexpectedly morphed into hideous grief and anguish.

He suddenly wrapped his arms around her and began to sob uncontrollably into her hair.

"Isobel... you smell the same as you used to... a hundred years have passed now and you’re exactly the same as I remember. I guess this means the rumors were true," he laughed dryly,"huh." He then unwrapped his arms and pushed away from her.

Isobel stared at him with extreme confusion. Who was this nut job?

"They told me you were dead, but I didn't believe them. But now..." he let out a shaky breath, "now... I wish you were!" he stopped talking long enough to, unintentionally, let her speak.

"How do you know my name?" she managed to get out. Great, freaking wonderful! Now she knew she had a legitimate stalker, and to top it off- he was delusional!

“What do you mean…? Oh. Really Isobel? You’re seriously acting like you don’t know me. I know you’re upset with me but,” Isobel was staring at him like he was mad and he returned her look with an angry eye brow furrow, “Stop looking at me like that. I know you remember me, considering you are wearing the necklace I gave you when we were humans.” The man let a victorious smile slip onto his face.

One of her gloved hands reached up to her neck and sure enough, there was a small necklace dangling from it. She looked at the man dumbfounded. She hated wearing necklaces. She realized then that she doesn’t even own a necklace. She traced the small chain trying to find where it clasped together. With shaking hands she found found it, and furiously tried to unclasp it but it just wouldn’t budge. She stomped her foot and growled in frustration.

“Look I don’t know who you are. I’ve never seen this necklace; I don’t know where it even came from. I guess I put it on by accident, but I’m super late for work and I’ve had the freakiest week of my life. So if you’ll excuse me…”

“You are not going anywhere. I just got you back!” He grabbed her shoulders roughly and made her stagger a bit.

“Let go or I will scream. We are in a crowded area you creep.” He let go and she flipped him the finger. There were people giving them strange looks. Her cheeks reddened and she looked towards the ground, nearly running the rest of the way to the building where she worked.
